Rumor has it Faxanadu for the NES is coming at some point too. That would be amazing.

I thought it was out already, I'll have to check.

Edit: I checked and it's been announced by Nintendo for November in EU.

Yes I'm just hoping it comes to the US! Give it to me!

Well, I'm happy to inform you that you are wrong. <3

Actually, looking at the VC lineup so far this year, it's not been all that bad.  I definitely wish the frequency of releases would bounce back to 2007/2008 levels, but I think things tend to get overblown when you sit and actually look back at what we've gotten.

List so far...

  • Final Fight 3 (SNES) Capcom
  • Shanghai II: Dragon's Eye (Gen) Activision
  • Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi (Gen) Sega
  • Ghoul Patrol (SNES) LucasArts
  • Alex Kidd in Shinobi World (SMS) Sega
  • Princess Tomato in the Salad Kingdom (NES) Hudson
  • Sonic & Knuckles (Gen) Sega
  • Fatal Fury Special (NG) D4 Enterprise
  • Final Fantasy II (SNES) Square Enix
  • Dracula X: Rondo of Blood (TGCD) Konami
  • Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber (N64) Square Enix
  • Ironclad (NG) D4 Enterprise
  • Zaxxon (AC) Sega
  • MegaMan 4 (NES) Capcom
  • The King of Fighters '95 (NG) D4 Enterprise
  • Mario Tennis (N64) Nintendo
  • Shadow of the Ninja (NES) Natsume
  • Kirby Super Star (SNES) Nintendo
  • Wild Guns (SNES) Natsume
  • Aero the Acrobat (SNES) Sunsoft
  • Ufouria: The Saga (NES) Sunsoft
  • Samurai Showdown III: Blades of Blood (NG) D4 Enterprise
  • Aero the Acrobat 2 (SNES) Sunsoft
  • Fatal Fury 3: Road to the Final Victory (NG) D4 Enterprise
  • Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest (SNES) Square Enix

ok cool so capcom is trying but IMHO that list is not impressive considering what they used to do and the fact that Sony's list for the past year is about 3 times that, no way Ninty should let Sony whip their ass in this category, hell PSN got 4 games in 2 weeks!! and there only pulling from one console. cmon Ninty is Sony can give us 1 game a week I know you can

I find it funny that Sony brought Cho Aniki to the US PS Store as part of Japanese imports. Epic trolling.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

@huaxiongs  im surprised that they even have a japanese import section now, im surprised to see some of the games on the US PS1 store period   F*** Grandia???? is the company that made that even around anymore???? makes me wonder even more what the hell is going on at Ninty. Are 3rd parties not trying get things on VC??? Is Ninty not wanting things on VC are they really sabotaging their own thing just for WIIWare like a bunch of pro and anti Ninty gamers have said??? im not trolling im really curious, its the biggest mystery to me this gen.

I understand, never implied you had trolling intents.

Eh... maybe you should step back and actually look at the PS Classics lineup for the year...

  • Championship Bass (PS) Electronic Arts
  • Extreme Pinball (PS) Electronic Arts
  • Dirt Jockey: Heavy Equipment Operator (PS) Mastiff
  • Sim Theme Park (PS) Electronic Arts
  • Magic Carpet (PS) Electronic Arts
  • Mass Destruction (PS) Electronic Arts
  • Populous: The Beginning (PS) Electronic Arts
  • Grandia (PS) SCEA
  • Sorcerer's Maze (PS) XS Games
  • Hi-Octane (PS) Electronic Arts
  • Delta Force: Urban Warfare (PS) Novalogic
  • Jigsaw Madness (PS) XS Games
  • One (PS) 2K Games
  • Perfect Weapon (PS) 2K Games
  • XS Airboat Racing (PS) XS Games
  • TNN Motorsports Hardcore 4x4 (PS) 2K Games
  • XS Junior League Dodgeball (PS) XS Games
  • XS Moto (PS) XS Games
  • Star Wars: Dark Forces (PS) LucasArts
  • Final Fantasy IX (PS) Square Enix
  • Bomberman Fantasy Race (PS) Hudson
  • N2O Nitrous Oxide (PS) Zoo Digital
  • XS Junior League Soccer (PS) XS Games
  • Bloody Roar 2 (PS) Hudson
  • Motor Toon Grand Prix (PS) SCEA
  • Crash Team Racing (PS) SCEA
  • Cho-Aniki (PS) Monkey Paw
  • Gaia Seed (PS) Monkey Paw
  • Theme Hospital (PS) Electronic Arts
  • Soviet Strike (PS) Electronic Arts
  • Magical Drop F (PS) Monkey Paw
  • Outlaws of the Last Dynasty (PS) Monkey Paw
  • Alundra (PS) Monkey Paw
  • Arc the Lad (PS) Monkey Paw
...not exactly overflowing with stuff, in fact it's comparable to what VC delivered this year in terms of number (but not quality I'd say) and below "one a week".  And a good amount is also shovelware (lol XS Moto).  Also Sony has NeoGeo and PC Engine games in Japan, but for whatever reason SCEA isn't bringing them over.... it being just one system is pretty much their decision.
Virtual Console may not be in the best shape (especially compared to the salad days of 2006/2007/2008), but bringing up Sony does pretty much nothing but make it look better.  Sony at their best ends up being about equal to Nintendo at their worst, lol.

GameArts (the company who made Grandia) is very much still around.  They just recently did the Lunar remake on PSP and a WiiWare action game called The Magic Obelisk.  Before that they did TMNTSmash Up, Project Sylpheed and Super Smash Bros Brawl.

There was some hope we might see the PSone Lunar remakes on PSN, but recently Vic Ireland said the rights were too complicated/expensive to sort out and it wouldn't happen.  The original Lunar 1-2 on Virtual Console don't seem likely either, since Sega's dragging their feet on supporting Sega CD games. :/
