I find it funny when console manufacturers talk about how much software is sold per system. They brag on and on about 2-5 games sold per hardware unit. But then I think I myself as a gamer buy over 15 games a year many years up to 20. I think to myself they are including those games I purchase in their numbers aren't they.

So it got me thinking how many games does the majority of the VGChartz community buy. So just how many games a year do you buy?

Its crazy that their attach rates are so low. I don't know anyone with less than 10 games. Like anyone even little kids have more than that.

I'm not gonna count PSN or Steam games

So far I bought 8 games this year.

4 of those I bought second hand.

I plan on buying a further 2 to 3 games plus 1 or 2 second hand games.

I sold off 3 games second (or third) hand and will probably do so with another 1 or 2 games.

If we only count the ones I buy new then that makes 6 or 7 games.

Last year I bought 6 new games total

i buy and trade/sell lots of games so my collection isn't big but i have bought around 8 games this year and plan on getting another 3 more.

but in 2009 i only bought like 3-4 games and 2008 around the same so i have uped by game now and  bought alot of old games too.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

For me, it was a big year buying new games, some of them on release, others after a price cut.

So: Batman Arkam Asylum, Mafia 2,  Alan Wake, F1 2010, Casltevania lords of shadow and Enslaved were full price.

Used: The Saboteur, Final Fantasy XIII, Fable 2, Mass effect, Fallout 3 and Dante's Inferno

Wow!  I never looked at it this way, but that is a lot of games.  And the year is not over.  I really want New Vegas.  Thank god for trade-ins.

Hrm... let's see... total games owned divided by years gaming... easily over 25 per year. Of course, many of those are used, and not counted in attach rates. Just yesterday, I got 5 more games, though they were for systems that are no longer made...

4-5 games per year. It's cheap to have the PC as your main platform.

A lot. I think I've bought more than 40 games this year.

Edit:

Actual number is closer to 60. Just counted the games I've bought from steam this year and that alone makes 35 games. How on earth I am going to play all of them. :S

I've been playing video games for over 19 years, and I have almost 300 games. So, around 15, I guess.

This year, I've bought 12 games, and I'm planning on buying at least 3 more. (Not quite as much as last year, though, I bought 24 games in 2009.)

Probably about 5-10 new, full priced games per year. This year so far the only new games I've bought are Red Dead and Halo Reach, but I'll be buying Fallout New Vegas, GT5, Black Ops and maybe the new Need For Speed.
