I just read a pretty harsh review of Kinect in Germany by 4players.de:

Ok, thats just one review ... but I somehow don't expect that Kinect will be "THE" big thing here in Continenal Europe. I will surely be more successful in the US/UK.

Now that I've seen the initial launch numbers for the Americas, I feel 750,000 plus is not out of the question. This is just the beginning as the holiday shopping hasn't really kicked in. I think Microsoft will easily make their 5 million sold estimate for the holidays.
