Forums - Sales - Italy: Playstation Move flies on the market (100k shipped, 60k sold)

After a short surge of Move ads, now here they are back to marketing of "traditional" PS3 games and the usual PS3 brand advertising, put in a lot of panels around football fields, so getting automatically a wide and constant TV presence. I guess they prefer to save money and use word of mouth as much as possible for Move, reviving it every now and then, when needed... Or maybe it's just that the gifts season never start early here, the earliest regions and towns start gift giving in St. Lucy's Day, let alone now that we aren't totally out of the crisis yet, so they'll get serious come December.

i think if they have sold a reasonable amount of MOVE in the market than the word of mouth will definitely come into play and introduction of MOVE games will help sell it better..

good for move. But really the question is if it can sustain this

They need more games. From what I'm seeing there's some new owners poping up on my favourite games forum regularly but a lot of people waits for more software.

Excuses? Actually we are writing that here in Italy it's selling quite well despite a marketing quite weak...

Unless you actually meant to write that the excuses are brought by Move haters.

interesting, I only really have one question. The move games so far have had very uninspiring sales levels and that is against the tracked numbers of move, if the tracked numbers are off by the 300% that people here seem to believe then what the hell are people playing on it? are we to believe people are buying it just to replay old games?

Basically, yes. The sales of the Move Starter pack vs Sports Champions in Spain should have given a clear enough picture of that.

Proudest Platinums:
1. Gran Turismo 5
2. Persona 4 Arena
3. Wipeout HD
4. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
5. Super Street Fighter 4

So Move is doing well in Europe. Well that's a start.
