I would assume most people paying attention to E3 bought the system they want already. I mean really, who stays up on current gaming news and doesn't already own a current console. People like to see things when nothing is really there.

me lol (unless you count the DS which I guess I do), but I'm a PC gamer primarily. I do intend to pick up a PS3 eventually...

I just like to learn about the industry.

I would disagree. This has been a very flat year. The NPD data shows more decline in the US over last year, despite two high profitle games. The industry is in a pretty big slump.

Interesting doesn' mean profitable.  although I'm sure there is money being made.  What i find interesting is how the trends in what sells the most have varied over the year.
