Forums - Sales - The real reason for GT5 delay...

Thats not the reason. Delaying GT5 just a week would mean that it will release the same day as COD: Black Ops, which would inevitably hurt sales since most teenagers can't afford to spend $130 on games in one night.

the threads title is misleading it implys that you know the true reason  you could have put  is F1 2010 the reason GT5 was delayed,

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

If Gran Turismo 5 drops the same week or day as Call of Duty: Black Ops, then it will make the Alan Wake vs. Red Dead Redemption sales pale in comparison.

I am surmising 2 to 4 million for Black Ops in the first week in the Americas, while Gran Turismo 5 will be lucky to break the 1 million barrier in the Americas in it's first week.

EDIT: Double Post due to the page loading slowly due to the background advertising and my work is running the fastest connection available from Comcast. Definitely a site issue with the advertising slowing everything up.

When's Need For Speed coming out? Isn't that November too? Hmmmm

That's like saying Microsoft didn't launch Reach in June because of Singularity.

why doesnt anyone ever believe wat the developers say?... didnt what they say make sense? and why would they need to lie if they were worried about the sales, if they were they could have easily said, ''the game was delayed because we believe that it would be more sensible for us to release it on a later date, to avoid conflict with other games of the same genre/ type'' or something like that...
