Eventually they got to an award and for some reason they decided to paint the awards on naked women (really wasn't as hot as it sounds).

You're telling me they actually fucked up simple fanservice? How is that even possible? Or was it because you were actually watching Spike and your higher brain function simply refused to remain active during the show?

EDIT: I retract my question. I just remembered I've actually seen Stripperella (my brain must of tried to bury that memory) and that failed to be, well anything other than god-awful.

don't knock stripperella! That show is 7 kinds of awesome =) Cheapo = best bad guy, ever

I'd rather watch VIP then Stripperella... and I HATE VIP.  Isn't it about time someone else gave Pam Anderson a show she stars in that doesn't last more then a half a season?

Actually half way through it's only season it disappeared for a long while and when it finally come back the art style had changed but it more or less sucked just as hard. But it technically ended with a full season. =P

Cheapo was the only vaguley entraining aspect of that show I had any kind of favorable memory of, and the Venture Bros have a entire cast of crazy comedic villians that completely outshined him.

Gaming still has a paria status so you only get D->F category stars. Nothing new right. To be honest I think this is great I really don't want gaming to go mainstream I don't think the music charts are better because everyone watches Popstar. I still hate console gaming for becoming so big that it destroyed whole PC game categories.

Real space Sims like XWing, a bit more complicated games like DeusX. Although PS3/360 seem to get better.

Sam L Jackson is a D->F category star?

I have to agree about console games destroying space sims, although I love console gaming Id give anything for a freelancer 2...oh freelancer, how many hours of my life you stole.

after snakes on a plane? No he still is at least B , but Tila Tequila ...

Freelancer was cool but Freespace2 still counts as most impressive spaceshooter ever. (Fighting with Tie-Fighter but that is a bit nostalgic)

Aye, freespace 2 was very nice. I loved freelancer for its massive modding community as well. Some mods basically made the game 3 times bigger when it was huge to begin with.

Personally I dont now why Spike TV could only get such awful stars. Sam L Jackson and Stan Lee are good, but then it goes downhill...

We need Patrick Stewart to host an awards show with Richard Dean Anderson...then things will fall into place...

See the problem you guys had was that you came into the show with your brain turned on. You'll find the show much more entertaining if you switch it off before watching =)

Help! I'm stuck in a forum signature!

-UBISOFT BOYCOTT!-

I would really like to see the video game industry do something like an awards show. Like take control and make sure it's more than just fan service. Sure have a host, but no stupid, forced jokes, nothing like that.

I would also like to see real categories, and have it voted on by the industry instead of fanboys who happen to frequent a particular site.

I'm really curious how the professional eye sees video games, what kind of things they look for and place value on.

Why can't they have "geeks" and "nerds" on a show for geeks and nerds? I think programs like that have a very niched viewer demographic, so they should cater to them instead of trying to appeal to casual viewers who don't give a crap either way. They could have folks like Kojima handing out awards, and have interviews and stories on major game developers globally to fill out.
Perhaps some sneak previews and an award for best trailer or best concept.
There are many ways to make it more interesting for us geeks!
