Looking forward to it- the Halo references are obvious.

However, I'm worried about the Grinder, it's been so long since I've heard anything about that...

I don't know why you're so worried about it. It's suppose to come out Halloween of 2011. An entire year from now. It doesn't have a publisher and it's more than a year away. I'm not writing this in a mean way but, do you honestly expect to see footage and hear details of a game that is more than a year away without a publisher?

See: Duke Nukem Forever, Gran Turismo 5, Alan Wake :)

I suppose, just SOME confirmation it's coming would be nice- what with the recent layoffs it's nowhere near a certainty...

Yeah, that may be, but this is coming from a developer with no core track record. All they've ever done is licensed games (like Dora the Explorer). Let's be real here, how many people really know the company High Voltage Software outside of the Wii crowd? That's right, no one. They can't just go out and hype a game that's a year away like 3D Realms (back when they were the devs of DN:F), Polyphony Digital, and Remedy can. All 3 companies having many hit games. 3D Realms having the entire Duke Nukem franchise, Polyphony having the entire GT franchise, and Remedy having the first and second Max Payne games. You should expect quality from them, ya know? Keep in mind, the only reason those games were being shown off for so long was simply because at one point they were all cancelled or on the verge of being cancelled.

People are also misconstruing this layoff as well. That layoff was just left over people from the High Voltage team that had already worked on games and were no longer needed. Most of those guys worked on Gladiator AD, and that was all they were working on. After that game was done and out the way, they had nothing else to attend to. There was no point to continue paying them for doing nothing.

Jeez, I wrote a lot.

If they worked on Gladiator AD they deserved to be made redundant. That game was awful

In all seriousness, I see your point. They no longer have the funds so rely on the "core" Wii crowd (like us) to buy the game and advertise it, the first one wasn't great, so this didn't happen.

It's the same thing which happened to Red Steel as well...

You'd like to know this. Sega is funding the game now. The first game was being funded in-house by High Voltage Software. That's no longer the case. They have a major marketing plan for this game this time around, and it begins next month. That's right, a big marketing push for a game that's 3 months away! So now, High Voltage doesn't have to solely depend on us to hype the game anymore. There's going to be plenty of things dished out by Sega to create hype.

So that same marketing push you see with Sonic games, will be the same marketing push you see with this. Except it's going to be geared more towards a mature audience, as you seen in the trailer.

Yay! That sorta soothes my worries about this game not getting the audience it deserves :D

Thanks and all, but do you have a link I can follow?

I don't have a link, considering I work in the gaming media, all I have is facts given to me by High Voltage developers. Their identities will remain secret until otherwise. I also work for a forum that where I convinced the head honcho for High Voltage to become a member.

Currently enjoying: Monster Hunter Tri.

Insert "they're really superheroes" joke here.

But I'm hopefull for this game. After Goldeneye, it's my most anticipated upcoming Wii game.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

HA! They really are superheroes. Considering what they are doing with the Wii and Conduit 2, I think I could call them that.

They already have a major reason for me to respect them over some other developers.

HVS: Wii owners didn't like The Conduit? What is wrong with us?

EA: Wii owners didn't like Dead Space Extraction? What is wrong with them?

Exactly.  How often do 3rd parties own up to a subpar game or at least parts of the game that were broken and could've been a turn off for gamers?  I'll be buying day one regardless of reviews.  I liked the first game and I highly doubt they will take a step backwards with Conduit 2.

Some may say it's because my thread was posted a day or so earlier... but I say it's because I have a cat in my Avatar.
