Forums - Nintendo - Wii Party and it's Achilles heel...

This is my thoughts and my thoughts are not facts in any shape or form.

I was somewhat interested in getting Wii Party, mainly because I lack party games, or multiplayer games in general (yeah, I know, a Wii gamer without ze party games...) and you get a Wiimote when you get it.

But you know what. I discovered one major fault in the Wii Party package, and it's the Wiimote you get. It's...just a wiimote. And soon the Wiimote Plus will be out, and I want those instead! So now that I don't care about the Wiimote incl. then I don't really want to spend that money on Wii Party. DKCR, GoldenEye, Super Mario Anniversary, Epic Mickey are all cheaper than Wii Party and I want those much more.

And this is could be the Achille's Heel for Wii Party imo. Wii Party will surely do well but I think Nintendo made a mistake in not including the Wiimote Plus instead of an ordinary controller.

Wii Party could've been the new Wii Play!

Thoughts?

Nintendo probably didn't include a Wii Remote Plus with Wii Party because Wii Party doesn't support Wii MotionPlus.

Probably...but I still think it would've been good to include it. It's the new standard controller after all. :/

is Wii Party available with out the Wii Remote?

Not really. It's just plain silly to include a peripheral with a game if the game doesn't support. It'd be like Activision bundling Call of Duty with a Guitar Hero controller.

...I hope Bobby Kotick doesn't read this.

Nintendo did say that once the Wiimote Plus launches they would become the standard remotes to be sold for the system, so I do wonder if they will replace the regular Wiimote with a Wiimote Plus in the Wii Party bundle.

It would seem like an odd things to do so soon after the game's release, but going into the holiday season it would be bizarre for them to have a relatively new product on market competing with the new remotes!

I'd like to know this as well...

I already have four WiiMotes.

I think it's game/remote only in EU, I don't think it is elsewhere... but I could be wrong.
