Well, the jury's still out about its staying power. But considering it has already sold 74 million I'd say it bodes well for its stay power.

What exactly did the HD consoles add to gaming? Better graphics? Whoopdi freakin doo..

ya except Nintendo makes a huge chunk of its profit through its consoles while microsoft and sony sold them for a loss for a long time hoping software sales would negate it. 360 is my favorite console but I honestly wouldn't mind them leaving the hardware market and developing games for nintendo and sony. Less consoles for me to buy but then again it would cause less competition which could be bad for the industry as a whole.

Herp Derp to anyone saying Nintendo.  They design the hardware around the software plans they have.  The day they stop selling hardware, they leave gaming.  Then... who else would the HD twins copy?

Nobody should leave.  In fact they should all unite (albeit breifly) to repel the scourge that is Apple.
