Have you ever stolen a video game?

Yes, if pirating counts 88 65.19%

Yes, even if pirating doesn't count 11 8.15%

Yes, but not directly from a store 9 6.67%

No under all circumstances 25 18.52%

Total:133

If pirating counts is up to you, and if you want to debate if it's stealing, feel free.

Stealing video games is pretty serious, considering the cost of each disk. So what has the VGChartz community done to continue, or prevent, this trend? Personally, I've never stolen under any circumstance, but if I want to borrow a game from a friend, I beg until they say yes just for me to leave them alone, so that could count.....

Yes, once:
A few weeks ago I downloaded Conquests of Camelot - The Search for the Grail from an adventure blog which I accidently discovered via simple Google search and which has almost every PC point&click adventure game for download. Download was finished within a few seconds (2.68 MB folder size) but weeks later I'm still trying to figure out how to install the game.

No, I have Downloaded a torrent of FFVIII, on PC, but that was after I broke the disk.

My friend stole san andreas for PC, from target. His computer couldn't run it so he gave it to me.

What do you mean if pirating counts of cause it counts it's theft , the media and games company's should substitute piracy and pirates with the word theft and  thieves every chance they get because unfortunately the words pirate /piracy has become romanticized .

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

Ha, I just discovered via the Wikipedia entry for Conquests of Camelot - The Search for the Grail that its designer Christy Marx offers her own game (Sierra was probably the company with the most female game designers ever) for free on her own site http://www.christymarx.com/writing/camelot.htm (and now I know that I just need DOSBox to install and run the game - silly me, as a former MS-DOS user I should've known).

So, have I ever stolen a video game? Yes and no.

I never pirited, but back in the day I used to be a kleptomaniac. The last game I stole was when I was about 17 after I opened up a rental game at blockbuster that should have been sealed, but wasn't. Score, yet I cant remember the name of the game. lol.

I stole every N64 controller color they made so I had like six differant controllers. I also stole diddy kong racing from media play (RIP).

I have stolen more, I will not say anymore other than I regret stealing from people, but definantly not from corporations. Also I have not stolen anything in 4 years, so go me, my stealing days are over. Johny law is not a man to mess with he will fuck yah. Still never got caught shoplifting.

Thieves steal.

Pirates plunder.

Damn only 3 "no under all circumstances"?

Wow. I've never pirated a game or shoplifted a game.

i did play old arcade games on emulators , as well as game series's that i wanted to play as whole that i couldn't play due to them never being translated (Like YS and FF)

I live for the burn...and the sting of pleasure...
I live for the sword, the steel, and the gun...

- Wasteland - The Mission.

Used to work for gamestation in the UK, whilst there probally stole around 5000 games to sell on ebay, Got myself around 2600 feedback from it and half the people didnt leave feedback.

Well they eventually caught me and all they did was fire me. Which is company policy, so definatly worth doing as the risk is so small.
