Forums - Gaming - Sonic 20th Anniversary game confirmed .... Oh who cares!!

Anyway looks like some kind of Super Mario All Stars, but instead of remaking full games they're focusing on levels

Sonic Anniversary, which should be considered a tentative title for the time being, will be a compilation of Sonic’s best levels from across his career adapted to the current generation of consoles. These levels are said to be a mix of 3D and 2D, though Sonic Paradise was unable to confirm whether or not it would be done via interlevel switches ala Sonic Unleashed, or if the dimension would be relegated to whether the level was 2D or 3D originally. So it is unknown whether there will be any 3D areas in remade classic levels, or all new 2D areas in the remade 3D levels.

What Sonic Paradise could confirm, however, were the platforms: the game is currently slotted for PS3, Wii, DS, and even PSP this time around. The Xbox 360 version is “still under negotiations”, though considering that a next gen Sonic game hasn’t missed the Xbox platform yet, it’s probably a shoe in. This game is believed to be the “Sonic Anniversary” game originally revealed in the leaked Sony document over a year ago. It’s expected to come out at some point during 2011, in time for Sonic’s year long anniversary celebration.

cool i hope it hits 360 but it doesnt really matter lol.

No iPhone version? but we even got Sonic 4... :(

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Could be great or terrible depending on which levels they choose and what they make of them.

Looking at the recent Sonic games (Colors and 4) though, I think this could turn out to be an awsome title.

Cool!

I've always wanted a game that tore the best levels from each of the main-line Sonic games

Sonic 1: Green Hill Zone
Sonic 2: Hill Top
Sonic CD: Can't remember the name, but it was the zone you fought Metal Sonic in
Sonic 3: Hydropolis
Sonic and Knuckles: Flying Battery
Sonic 3D Blast: Rusty Ruins
Sonic Adventure: Red Mountain
Sonic Adventure 2: Metal Harbor
Sonic Heroes: Hang Castle
Never played Sonic 06, and Unleashed is a bit soon to be remade in anything

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I can't believe it's been 20 years almost already since Sonic debuted on a gaming console. I will definitely be keeping a close eye on this, as I hope they don't mess with the original stages too much (i.e. change any physical aspects).

Sonic has to many compilations. But who knows

Why did you put who cares? in the title. You obviously cared enough to make a thread about it. lol

I'd switch Green Hill Zone with Star Light Zone, Hill Top with Chemical Plant, (Yeah, seriously.) Metal Harbor with Green Forest and Hang Castle with Egg Fleet, but other than that, my list is just like yours.

(I don't know about Rusty Ruins, though, since I haven't even played Sonic 3D Blast.)

Green Hill is to Sonic as 1-1 is to Mario, though. If you're making a 20th compilation, it has to start with Green Hill Zone

plus Star Lite, while awesome, would be a clone of the top Sonic CD level, which had pretty much the same theme.

Honestly, not much of 3D Blast was notable, but Rusty Ruins had some catchy music

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
