It could really go either way. Sonic 4 could become a critical darling much as Megaman 9 and 10 did, and for similar reasons, while Sonic Colors could run into the same difficulties as recent console Sonics
Or the opposite could happen, that Sonic Colors will finally be the one that gets it right (there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it, anyway. This late in the Sonic Cycle, we would have known if there were crazier gimmicks than the Wisps, which seem to be well-implemented), while Sonic 4 will end up looking mediocre compared to Sonics 1-3, given that Dimps has always made good Sonic games, but never outstanding ones
