Why do you do this to me. What have I ever done to you for you to destroy my vision of this game/movie. WHAT?! *shakes fist*

Relax. Shia's popular but I'll be astonished if they skew that young. Thinking beyond Nathan Drake I'd love to see J.K. Simmons as Sullivan.
I was thinking Tom Hardy (Eames) from Inception could make for an interesting Nathan Drake.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Oh come on, was obviously kidding ;) Not too mention he wouldn't fit the part imho. And yes for your other choice :)

| Reasonable said: I'm sure Russel will write his own script in terms of actual dialogue, and on past form he should be able to add plenty of richness to what's already there. I'm more curius as to whether they will take the first game as the start point, with the whole Drake linked to Sir Francis Drake and make it as an origin film or will they try and come up with a completely new story? Thoughts on casting? Nathan Fillon (spelling?) always struck me as a potentially good choice, and of course they could consider Nolan North himself as his voice is so linked to the charcter (for gamers anyway). |
change the story will ruin the movie, this game has already got a fanbase of around 4 million, and thats 4 million that will help spread the word of mouth and create hype. If he changes the story boom, loses fanbase.
the story has to be 1:1 in align with the game, doesn't have to contain certain sections but it should start like the game and finish with the game and contain the best parts of the game in the middle and bam you have a great movie.
Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

kane and Lynch is ready to start production with Bruce Willis (Kane) and Jamie fox (lynch) , if all goes to plan we will see it next year.

They might keep the basic core, but I'll be very surprised if a director who writes his own scripts wouldn't change it to suit their intent. Of course, on the other hand he might keep the core structure and just focus on changing dialogue and character beats.

what ever he does better not f it up i want to see uncharted 2 more than uncharted 1 movie

The sad thing is, Hollywood may pull some BS move like that. And it's a 100% given the story will be changed. The problem with Hollywood types is that they have egos. And they sure as hell aren't going to make a movie based on some video game writer's script. Hell no, that would be a hit to their ego, as I'm sure none of them have much respect for video games.
And who thought it would be a smart idea to cast Jamie Fox as Lynch?! Another BS move by Hollywood. Well, I was kinda interested in watching that film, since I like Bruce Willis (still don't think he was the best choice, but acceptable.) Not anymore. What's funny is I would love to see them change a black character into a white one and see how smoothly that goes. Lol, there would protests in the streets and accusations of racism.
