That demo made Haze feel triple A.
Well, tried the demo now just to fair since I commented here...
...and it was terrible. Awful level layout and graphics with zero detail of interest. Terrible AI and foes. Your movement is way too slow while the guns have no sense of weight to them. Your AI buddy is little help and throwing them at stuff just feels weakly implemented. The boss in the demo was really lame and had no impact at all.
It really felt like a very early concept build made by people uncertain of the middleware engine they are using.
Just... terrible on every gameplay level IMHO.
As noted by AMU1808, demo to demo, it pales terribly in comparison to Haze, which ain't good.
It does show just how well made and slick Gears is and how you can't just easily copy something even using a common engine as the basis.
Heck, Lair (which I got for like £2.50 in a bargin bin) is way better than this judging by the demo.
Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Seriously? it's called gamestop. Just look at the game website. I pretty much know when every game is going to come out week bye week. lol

I think your being way to harsh on the game. I did'nt think the demo was all that bad. I actually finished all the way through, which doesn't happen when I try out a demo. lol

Nah, TBH I normally rarely come down hard on a game, but when you compare it to all the games it mimics it isn't just derivitive it simply flails around miles behind the standards. With games like Gears and Uncharted showing third person action/shooting at it's best this is a very pale imitator in just about every way possible IMHO.
I remember seeing one trailer which talked about changing levels, flying walkways and the like, which looked somewhat interesting, and maybe the demo simply didn't have those elements, but really, the demo is pretty damn poor and if that's their best shot at trying to convince me the game has some merit then that alone speaks volumes, all of them negative.
Heck, I gave Lair a pop and found it was actually okay once patched so you could ignore the motion controls and focus on actually flying a dragon around and eating lots of little soldiers a'la Lord of the Rings, and I checked out Haze via the bargin bin and found it was simply average with a fairly decent coop - but this title really does look like it has nothing to redeem it at all.

was one of my anticipated games judging from early gameplay trailers, demo sucked so bad

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk
really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

lol.......if anything, Haze was fun, it just looked awful. But it held a steady framrate, had unique gameplay elements, and was pretty long in playtime. I doubt Quantum Theory has any hidden pluses. It was just bad. |
I played through Haze Coop with a friend and honestly there was some fun to be had. I probably wouldn't call it a good game but it wasn't horrible. I'd definitely say that it gets more smack on forums than it deserves [didn't really help with that much now that I look back on that post
] but I guess gamers just have extremely high standards these days. That Quantum Theory demo on the other hand, I played through twice. Second time was to simply find one good thing to say about it but I failed.
Team Tachyon seems to make about nothing but bombs; Tokobot, Tokobot PS2, Pangya 2, Rygar Wii, Undead Knights and now Quantum Theory... I wonder how long it can last?

DOA is not one of Tecmos best games, Ninja Gaiden is. DOA is one of the most horrible 3D fighters I've ever played.
