Can anyone tell me if this reboot has a better story than Lament of Innocence? I thought LOI did a great job of telling how the Belmont clan got started and I was a little surprised that they are throwing away the adventure of Leon Belmont.

I'm only in the start of Chapter 2, but so far I can say it has much better voice acting(obviously), far better level design and it even stays true to the franchise with characters from the original series games. all in all I can say it's less cheesy and the story feels really interesting, even more since I've managed to avoid any spoilers.

I finished and i have to say that the ending pretty much ruined the story for me. It's stupid and cheezy beyond belief and has that horrible Kojima-melodrama. The game is amazing but the story (at least viewed as a whole after having finished it) is terrible.

This game, along with Castlevania 64, Legacy of Darkness, Circle of the Moon and Legends, is not canon you know

I am blown away as in every thread about Castlevania LoS people are talking about the story and characters or graphics.

Like did you play the old castlevania games cause of story and characters or cause the graphics were great? I'd understand if the story was mindblowing but videogame story is really is pretty bad compared to most medims (books, movies...)

haveing COMPLETED LoS i can say that LoI has a better story, and better soundtrack. That's it though LoS has it beat o neverything else and is a far superior game, best 3d CV game by a mile.
