Yeah it supposed to do that so you know that you have a message. Kind of like an answering machine beeping until you listen to the message.

Yes, I love that pretty blue light. Except when I get all excited that there may be a new update out or a message only to realize that I got a mail from Super Mario Galaxy telling me that one of the currently players saved luigi. wtf. I was just playing, I know I saved him, again.
BTW, I have 61 stars and am about to finish the "Bedroom" set of galaxies.
In addition to the Wiiconnect24, there's another place where you can indicate the glow and whether or not you want it bright, dim, or off. That's in the settings too.
The blue glow for us is joy! We look forward to it. Of course, we actually use our Wii everyday, not let it go for days without turning it on.
I had no idea people are so open nowadays, talking about their Wiis publicly. Good thing it's on the net else I wouldn't know how to face you guys.
Sound almost as fun as having Norton antivirus snapping at your ass all day.

That's the problem with 360 and Sony fanboys, they're so bitter and myopic. They just don't know how to be open and enjoy a little Wii. I usually like to break my Wii out at parties, show it off and let people play with it. It always brings a smile to their faces.

That is basically what the Wii was built for, after all.
