PS3 doesn't have HDMI 1.4... but I don't know if was necessary TV with HDMI 1.4 support for 3D on PS3.
And "Side by side" mode was choice for 360 because limitation of HDMI.

Well, they're retarded then. I've seen from multiple places that have said the 360 can do 3D. Microsoft just isn't pushing it as much as Sony is.

Probably 3D on 360 will be better than on Ps3 after so much360 cant do 3D.. .Well Looks Like Activision and Crytek are pushing the 360 for 3D Gaming!

Side to side and over/under are exactly the same.If a device can do side to side, it can do over under...unless they are talking about HDMI 1.4 locked over under which has a slight data buffer in the middle.
And while PS3 doesn't have HDMi 1.4, that 3D update in June was to update the HDMI firmware to emulate HDMI 1.4. As things are now, PS3 will not display a 3D signal unless you connect it to a HDMI 1.4 device.

Indeed. If a game can do split screen, it can do 3D. Its as simple as that. Since we are dealing with 720p 3d resolutions, having 2 images split down the middle (side by side or over/under) is a perfect format for 3D gaming.
Its cool that sony is pushing 3D with their first party titles, but it should be common knowledge that the tech behind it is not something which can't be done anywhere else.

...I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not.
No update is needed for 3D. Ps3 needed an update as they wanted to "upgrade" the HDMI port with software and lock out non HDMI 1.4 displays.
Avatar and Invincible tiger were out in 3D before the update and they worked on any 3DTV at the time. I am hoping COD Black ops will do the same and bypass the Sony update...
Still not interested in 3D. I'd rather have the resolution than the 3D effect personally.

im not being sarcastic, before this day i didnt know that the 360 was 3d ready or that the ps3 didnt need an update to play 3d games.
