since now you all know that glass-less huge tv's that are affordable and practical are years away i think we should just all gree that maybe haveing 3d tv with glasses is not such a bad thing afterall

Yeeah no thanks, I'd rather not waste 2 grand on a 3DTV only to have it be obsolete in 5 years, and then pay another 3 grand for a glassesless 3DTV. Plus I can't bring myself to wear those stupid glasses.

Good things come to those who wait I've found. I waited it out on getting a decent HDTV for a decent price and last year I've managed to score a 32 inch for only $300, when this same set probably would have costed me twice that had I ran out and got it 2 years earlier. Hell if I was REALLY  patient I'd just wait for holograms, but that's probably a good 30 years from now and even I can't wait that long.

I think tv upgrade after 5 yrs is normal. Why would you wait a few yrs to get someting bit cheaper? Life's too short.

Yeah, so might as well use that short time to spend that extra money on things worthwhile :P

I think it's going to be a little more than 3 years till we get a good glassless TV, as some have suggested it will be only 3 years for the quality to improve and the price to come down.  I would guess it will be probably 5 years minimum before they even get the viewing angle to at least a more acceptable 90 degrees plus up the resolution to at least 1080p, while at the same time being able to achieve all this on a larger screen.  Of course, the price for these new TV will be crazy.  Maybe somewhere around $5,000-$10,000.  And by that time glasses 3-D TV's and 3-D glasses will have dropped in price incredibly.  We probably got 7-10 years before they get this tech to a point where a good sized TV isn't going to run you more than a grand or 2, while giving you the same visual quality of todays HDTV's.

please note that sony have this baby as well so if 3D-Tv ever takes off you can bet that one day they may well make this as a product we can all buy in the fututre (obviously will be even better)

sony have that do they?

so do loads and loads of other people.

the first demo of that was from an american university years ago.... and this looks remarkably similar (identical)...  why do you seem ti think that sony are at the forefront of everything innovative?

your loyalty is impressive... if a little odd.

the irony is that your the exact opposite, it's almost as if anything innovate and Sony being together hurts your feelings or something......

Not experienced that for a long time.... so I cant remember.

And I am not saying anyone else (MS for instance) are any more innovative,  I just dont see Sony as cutting edge leaders any more in consumer electronics.

exactly my point

What are ya saying? I'm not getting Kinect.. MAYBE if it had some halfway decent looking games I'd consider getting it for christmas or something but MS has proven it doesn't care about the actual games for the thing, just the gimmicky technology behind it.
