Actually some metal gear fans I know praised the Gamecube version of the game, saying it was a pretty good remake and somewhat way more enjoyable in that time because of the updated graphics. I even got a friend whou didn't own a Gamecube and the borrowed mine to play the game he bought himself and still has it for collection.
You have to take in consideration the time it arrives too. MGS was the best and the most awesome militarystealth game back in the time. Just like Super Mario Bros., Halo and Ocarina of Time. People tend to refer to them as the best games ever because of the impact back in the time.
But yeah, you can always disagree.

So at first you are saying you don't like MGS and its boring and blah blah blah then you are praising it and i'm the one that somehow became wrong here?
i've bought a Gamecube when they announced it, and enjoyed the game, but the people who made it probably watched too much matrix and are just didn't know what they are doing with the script or storyline, everything was chaotic its like watching a video game made by Uwe Boll, everything just didn't make sense, for example here this scene.

notice how in the original , it build a very creepy atmosphere, with all that noise and such, you don't even know what to expect, plus notice the guy saying "its... its a ghost" before he dies, on the gamecube version , he says that when he is lifted in the air while impaled??! wtf ? , and the music, its like its making fun of that scene instead of "remaking it" , yeah i know you wouldn't care (you probably didn't even bother looking at the videos anyways) but i'll ask you this did you enjoy Zelda and Mario when it wasn't made by Miyamoto ? (on the Philips CDI?) or did you enjoy Metroid Other M?
