i'm posting here rather than overthere as i'm not trying to be rude or offensive.
But do you really feel you have significant experience (2 games played and 1 hosted) to actually know what is best? I'm sure you have pointers on things you noticed, but you should really get someone else to contribute actively to the thread with you.
That said, I don't know who here has hosted enough games to know what they are doing... but some players have played many games and that is a start (didn't j0 say he played all 21 games so far?).
What I mean is that although I liked you game a lot and had a lot of fun (thank you by the way), it wasn't perfect.
The first example that comes to mind is when you say that you intentionally mislead people by saying j0's vote didn't count... this was my main reason to doubt Trucks, as besides the ackward nameclaim and role, this was the only tangible evidence of him lying... and it turned out that he in fact wasn't. Heck an easy way to do this without lying would have been to just list all votes and say hammered, without any comment.
An other example is when you brought Vett back in. I don't have anything against it, but his role was linked to an other, and since they were identical, this enabled vett to be a warrant for the accuracy of the other's roleclaim. Vett didn't do this, which in effect made Nen suspect him. Basically, you put him in a position where he could only A) use his info to help the town although he was mafia B) Not use his info and put himself in jeopardy.
Lastly, and I don't know if this is actually usually done in mafia or not, you gave a lot of info in your flavor. The deaths gave us Frieza, Boo and Cell. You included 2 characters, Popo and Kai, as the story view points, which in fact validated Zarx claim when we knew popo was in the game. On the last day you Validated my character and role, by putting Bulma in with a rather well depicted scene. These are not game changing, but if you're gonna reveal the killer's identities with their attacks, you have to consider that this affects the balance of the game. Afterall, every flavor mafia game ends up having players nameclaim.... (if i ever host a game with flavor, i'm doing it in the universe of, not with the characters of... or just a few).
these critics are meant as constructive and not as an attack on your hosting.

So is Final-Fan hosting the next game? I think he called it like 3 games ago.

Oh that was my game! But I think my favorite one was the one where sabby was convinced you, me and Final-Fan were all scum. The arguments in that game were epic!

What I mean is that although I liked you game a lot and had a lot of fun (thank you by the way), it wasn't perfect. Of course not, in the mafia rules and hosting, I specifically said that themed games were the hardest ones to implement which I will delve upon later. Trucks was informed that his votes would be made to look like they were real votes. He had the information and chose to reveal his inability to vote knowing the ramifications. He actually had no idea who or what his sibling was. Normally in mafia, the other sibling is evil, however, given the circumstances, it was intentionally vague enough to the point where having the role that he did had no ill effect on the game whatsoever. It is up to him to sufficiently convince nen-suer and the rest of the town that he wasn't mafia. I remember nen pointing it out that vette would have to be mafia since he was targeting nen and yet knew that nen was town. There was no such implication of that, and in fact, according to standard mafia role of sibling, vette had reason to suspect nen-suer. Additionally, vette had no idea who his sibling was. It would be no different if another person noticed that vettes role was sibling and concluded that the other android was a sibling. I never validated anyone's roles. Popo and Kai might well have not been in the game at all. It is up to the player to figure out for themselves which roleclaims are genuine and which are not. What would you have done if there was no Kai, and zarx simply nameclaimed Kai? He was in fact the last person in the game to nameclaim, so he could have easily just tagged himself to Kai. In the part where you lynch vegeta and he uses nappa to protect himself, vette was informed that if he was lynched, nappa would appear in a way that would confirm that he is mafia although he would be able to do a night action. The final flavor was meant to be just an interesting aside, it had been two days without a kill, and mafia's time was just about up. I was expecting them to give up. They really had no chance at that point since hat was a bomb and both mafia had been identified etc etc these critics are meant as constructive and not as an attack on your hosting. |

Well my point is that these affect the balance of the game, as the player may not use the info properly.
In any case, these are details, but I do believe the kill types are an information that is too revealing if not part of the balance.

I didn't understand how my non-vote worked like you did prof. I thought I was allowed to vote but that it wouldn't affect the vote tables.

exactly, when creating the game you have to take into account the primitive IQ of a truckosorus, not the one of a professor specialized in black hole formation in the quantic plane theories.
(that was a joke... but the point stands)

Ah, i notice now that I didn't explain exactly how I would do it.
It was supposed to be made to look like you could vote.
It's possible that I meant it to be a hidden part of your role and just recently forgot that it was hidden
