[edit:  never mind, it got better.  Unfortunately, even under the best of circumstances sleep must take its toll.  I made considerable progress -- by which I mean I figured out what the heck I'm doing but haven't done much of it yet -- and I'll get back on it tomorrow.]


completly my fault, i was clearing out an older server from the computer that hosts the current server, and i ddi not realise the size of the file until after i started, took a bit of time 200k individual folders and 15 gb of space, i would not have run it then if i had been watching a alittle more closly, i saw that was taking a toll, and tried to get on to advise but could not log into minecraft due to it

server will be down for just  a bit moving old back ups off the hd to external storage, because of the way old mine craft files are fragmented

 

this may take just a bit longer then i thought ....   moving a bit over 2 million items and its projecting 3 hours... originally only one

alright that took way longer then it should have... glad we have the new file structure so that will not happen again..  i was hopeing to have the server back up by 10.... its now 12:20 its up though.... the map will be sent out in the next  10 to 15

Finally finished the interchange between Wick's rail hub and Pumpkin Freeway.  Due to the peculiarities of the construction, I decided to put a little decoration in the connecting tunnel -- to wit, shrubbery in between the incoming and outgoing lines.  Check it out, Wick! 

Suggestion:  Wick, do you want to change the name of the 10X station from "FinalFan's Area" to "New Spleef Arena" or something?  It's completely up to you, but there's a Pumpkin Freeway stop going straight to my base, and your station is awfully close to the spleef thing. 

For everyone else:  As I said, there's a new connection between the freeway and Wick's rail hub / old spleef arena.  Basically near the switch controls there's a button (NOT the launch button) that sends ONE rider to the Pumpkin Freeway stop.  It automatically resets by a pressure plate so that the rail hub goes to its own stuff by default.  Mashing the button won't hurt it, so if you're not sure if you pressed it, go ahead and press it again. 

Also, I've upgraded the rail hub's circuitry so that only the first two switches control the lines to the same four stations he already had.  The third switch currently does nothing.  This means that if he should choose to add more stations, he can do so (up to 4 more) and still only use the original three switches.

Small correction:  The Pumpkin Freeway exit for Wick's rail hub is currently nonfunctional because the FUCKING REDSTONE TORCHES WON'T WORK

At first I thought it was due to the special cramped design, even though it was apparently working before when I built and tested it.  But now the torches just plain won't turn back on when I've put them in their powered off-state.

i was wondering when this would happen. check the known bug list, seems the pressure plates are causing issues in railes right now. i did not want to jinx it by mentioning that earlier

The pressure plate is not in that stop.  It's dozens of blocks away with no redstone between them.  I don't see how it could possibly be causing this. 

I had heard that plates could make carts jump the track, but I didn't know they caused redstone issues.  Really?  [edit: saw the list.  That issue is not what's happening:  in this case a redstone torch that is turned off will not turn back on when the current deactivates.]

I have a couple ideas.  Or maybe the redstone will spontaneously work again. 

If I have to, I'll just expose the wiring instead of using the underground torch technique. 

It WILL be operational tonight.  Prettiness not guaranteed.

[edit:  As promised, the exit is ugly but operational.  The stuff in wick's hub is perfectly fine, nothing went wrong there.]
