Forums - Gaming - I'm losing my patience. How about you?

Yeah, I'm also finding it hard at the moment to completely invest myself into a game. I'm always looking over at the clock and thinking 'oh shit, I've been playing this for 2 hours, maybe I should actually do something today'. 2 years ago I wouldn't of given a shit about the time, but lately time has been the priority.

I think it's easier to find that thrill with games when you're younger because you have less responsibilities, and when you get older you either have them or you think you should have them.

I'm playing Twilight Princess now and even though I'm not enjoying it as much as I used to, I know that soon something will spark that bit of imagination in me that has been lost for a while.... or so I'm hoping.

Lol, sob story XD ...

Time will always be changing. I used to watch 6 hours of TV a day now I watch practically none at I all. I used to watch almost every Avalanche and Broncos Game now I hardly watch sports. I used to smoke pot, and do other various drugs all the time now I rarely do (pot only).

Times change people change its nothing to worry about.

I'm kind of at the same point. There's very few games I put in the time to beat.

umm start playing PSN, XBLM or WiiWare small games.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

Honestly, I think the problem is having to much to do.

Come to the forums, chat for a while, play a little, etc etc.

My schedule is just so full of what I would consider gaming that it's hard for me to get to the video games. I game in all sorts of ways but less video gaming nowadays.

Welcome to the world.  I used to be able to play games all day and all night.  Now, even when I have a day off from work, I don't really get hyped to play games like I used to.  Now if I could just learn to stop buying them.......but yeah.  You're normal.

What he said. I'm the same. I buy and buy all those games, but rarely have the time/patience to play them extensively. But then I don't drink or smoke, so I consider buying games a relatively cheap hobby.

Need something off Play-Asia? http://www.play-asia.com/

I honestly think the issue (at least for me), for not wanting to deal with many games of today is all the constant cutscenes, tutorials, scrolling text, complex controls to learn, etc that slow down the game and require far more patience to get into. I dunno, maybe it's because I am 24 now and getting less patience because I am beginning to realize I'm not going to have an infinite time to spend on video games, but I find I am rushing through many games and skipping through things like cutscenes far more than I use to.

Though I do still frequently play online multiplayer like Gears 2 and MW2, SSBB, small Iphone games, old school retro games, and the occassional Star Craft or Diablo 2. These are types of games I can pick up and play at almost any time and play for several hours without getting bored. I think this is because these games share a common quality of instant action, pure gameplay, easy to learn, tough to master, and a sense of freedom within the games, which I believe are some of the best qualities games can have. Whereas with many of these modern bigger budget single player games I find I'm pushing myself to play them just to say I beat the game and didn't waste my money, and even when I'm playing it, I'll only play for a couple hours at a time max.

that is what happens when u have a job a wife 10000 children (well they feel like that many). Not much time to play games.

more responsibilities = less game time
