360 still on top, despite the move launch!!!

Looks like 360 will remain on top come Kinect

I love it when people say "So the Wii is selling less but still more than the PS3 and 360 did at their worst!" True, true, but the PS3 and 360 were never ever even remotely close to being the fastest selling console in history. The Toyota Corolla was the best selling car in Norway three years running but is now beaten by the VW Passat, does this mean that Toyota shouldn't do anything to alleviate the situation since the Honda Civic sold considerably less at its worst?

Strange logic imo.

OT: Good sales for the HD consoles, DS is still monstrous despite being rather heavily down yoy, PSP flailing in the water like an injured chicken and Wii continues the downward trend, setting new all time low sales nearly on a weekly basis now.

Question: Was the big Halo Reach drop expected? From 950k to 180K this week? I thought it'd be in a 500k range for this week...

Yeah... expected and on spot... just like Halo 3.

Halo 3 drop from 908,192 to 186,084 (-80%).
Reach drop from 952,085 to 189,684 (-81%).

Wait, are you saying you expected the PS3 to top the 360 when Move launched?

And with Halo: Reach boosting 360???

It's the same for GT5 and Kinect launch... PS3 will top 360 in November.

woah ok. So Reach had pretty much same drop as Halo 3.

I just didn't think it's drop this much that's all.

Quality over hype? One mans hype is another mans quality.

Anyway as for Move, the entirety of in store advertising I have seen is a couple of dummy boxes. Definately not the complete marketing push.

Depends on store and location. JB HiFi in Wellington is plastered with Move posters and they have a TV set up showing Move videos on a continuous loop. Not a big enough store to have any demo stations set up though.

I see the latest Guitar Hero did better on 360 than PS3. Is it wrong to celebrate that fewer PS3 owners are drinking the Activision Koolaid?

Up in Auckland there seems to be very little Move advertising in stores.  All the JB in the CBD has is a few posters, though they've been out of stock since the second day, so I suppose it'd be pointless.
