Forums - Gaming - GAMESPOT Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Review - 7.5/10

umm now i am differently not getting it, i was thinking about it but wouldn't get it unless it was getting high reviews despite i know they are all bull**** but i trust them since i got Uncharted 2 on the edge and that was absolutely fantastic.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

Well this and IGN's review kind of killed it for me, I mean I like these kind of games but it gets repetitive

Im gonna wait on this one

since when has seven become a bad score. People need to stop reading to much into review scores. If you think it's going to be a good game, then bye all means buy the game. Trust your own judgement. lol

Well I played the demo and didnt care much for it.

God of War ripoff and the camera was really awkward. When an enemy would be out of sight, you'd have to run backwards and youd get hit cause the enemy sees you.

I felt it was pretty generic. Not bad, but I will certainly not buy it and if I never play the actual game I dont think I will miss much.

Sorry, but that is my opinion. Take it or leave it.

Hmm..Well that is kinda dissapointing score..

"Just about everything in the game is derivative"

What exactly does derivative mean in this context? That everything in the game is borrowed from somewhere else?

I took it to mean (and I agree) that everything has been done before and better. So they dont even get points on perfecting what came before.

yes that's what it means. I watched the video review and that's part of what the guy talked about.

y=x^2

dy/dx=2x

so that means if God of War 3 = GoW^3 that Castlevania LoS = 3*GoW^2 so it means LoS is 3 times the game GoW2 is... which is the best GoW in my opinion. So ZOMGZ

skip them with the skip button :D

I don't really expect this to be like a castlevania game that much... it's like expecting 3D mario to be like 2D mario.

Aren't they the same game? Looks wise no, but gameplay wise its pretty much identical, other than for the hub world wich 3D games usually get.

not really no imo, 2D zelda is really close to 3D zelda... but, let me think of an analogy you might know beings I think you're the PC type, it's like comparing duke nukem to duke nukem 3D imo.
