Forums - Nintendo - 3DS is $299 to much?

I won't buy it until it hits 200 anyways UNLESS it's 250 with a game...if not holiday season 2011 it is

$250 with a game seems reasonable. It'll probably be $350 here in Australia though =/.

Does this mean Patcher was right? His been getting more hits than misses as of recently.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

$300 would be cheap if you leave in costarica (I do) and most places of latinamerica, I expecting a us$450-us$500 price here...

300 in Japan means 250 in USA tops. Seriously everything is cheaper in USA, i can buy PS3 games from USA for half the price they cost here in Europe...

Is gaming in Japan really that much more expensive than in America? If the system launches for 299 in America would you buy it? If it launches for 249 and the PSP2 does the same which will you buy?

Yes I was expecting the 3DS to launch for 275CDN, so an extra 25$ wouldn't break me. Sure I'd be a tad dissapointed but in the end its about quality. I think the fact that at E3 Nintendo said to expect software prices to remain the same as the DS 39.99$ a game that is tremendous value. I'll be getting my 3DS and a hand full of games at launch. I'm betting the console and games will probubly set me back about 500$.

If the PSP2 launches at the same price will I buy it?

This depends on the PSP2's features. If it was fully backwards compatable, touch screen enabled , At least as powerful as the 360. Cheaper software then the origional, NetFlix enabled. Then I would buy it at launch for 300$. But fact is Sony is just known for subpar quality when it comes to their products, it would take alot of features like those listed above to get me to purchase a PSP2.

The quality of Sonys products are not bad imo. Just the price, seriously everything from Sony costs more than it should. Both electronics and consoles, the current PS3 price is the exception and its probably because they are still last.

I'm guessing it'll be about $250 in the US.

To expensive for me. I don't think it'll be killing off the DS anytime soon.

My friends who bought PSP's at launch all had dead pixels and one had to return his twice. Then Adam Sessler imported one from Japan and the buttons were partially in the screen. I heard about  constant problems for about half a year. I ended up buying mine in 2008 after all the glitches were worked out.

It seems that with Sony products you need to wait a year or two for all the bugs to be worked out.

Again anectodal evidence = not 'well known' fact

I'm on my 3rd PSP..I kept trading mine in for a newer version and they all worked like a dream...(on my Blood Red GOW PSP now)..so no stop with the genralization....if not the fact that my first DS broke and so did my gf's would mean ninty is known for horrible quality which is utter BS. You just had rotten luck
