Not really. Absolute truth is obvious. Almost no one denies the concept of absolute truth.

Moral could be described as some kind of truth but it's more than that. Right and wrong.

But you're on the right track.

Instead of "Truth (at least, certain truths) exists either we know it or not. Or if we can prove it or not."

I mean "Moral truths (at least, certain moral truths) exists either we know it or not. Or if we can prove it or not."

Says who?

Me and marciosmg lol. What do you want me to say? Read the thread.

I've read the entire thread.

Who or what dictates what real moral truths are? I haven't seen you answer that.

I think he is trying to disagree with that statement.

Id talk about it, but first Id like a distinction to be explained betwen Morals X Truths.

Im not a philosopher (nor that big of a student, though I should apply myslef more ) so some concepts go over my head.

I see: Truth --> Morals.

So if you accept absolute truth, you accept absolute morals.

But like I said, Im a dummy on this issue. So, someone enlighten me.

Truth and morality are not intrinsically linked.

This discussion is badly off-topic and has nothign to do with dinosaurs. If it's to be continued, I would suggest a new topic altogether.

Yeah, we have gone WAY off-topic. So, Khuutra, if you want to create a new thread, I'd be more than happy to read it.

Ok, I went to the pub with my mates and I've done some reflecting and I think I owe an explanation/apology.

First off in my defence I have only said the words "moral relativism" once, yet I have argued for "relative morals" throughout the thread. I'm not saying that we should all tolerate each others morals because there is not definitive line like in moral relativism, but I am saying that all morals are relative. You can chalk it up to the fact that this is like the second time I've debated it. At any rate I'm not convinced at all that morals can be absolute.

Secondly I think I owe Slimebeast an apology. I did kind of get a little angry and out of control at him. So I do apologise if I've done anything to upset you.

So you get mad when you are not drunk and calms down when you are? Good to know.

You sure you didnt quote the wrong guy? Because i have absolutely no idea whats your point and how those P and hummingbird thing are even remotly related to eternal entity known as God in our socitey

Since you asked for one, it was an explanation on why your argumentation (starting from "A God can not ''come from'' anything" - your words) was faulty in being circular, as remarked by sapphi_snake.

The point here being that you can't rely on self-referential predicates of a tentative entity ("god exists, uncreated", "P is true") to falsify estabilished and tested real world hypothesis (physical world following cause and effect principle, hummingbirds not morphing into geckos).
