Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo´s next home console...the real test for 3rd party support?

Yes, I can understand  Sony/Microsoft wanting Nintendo gone but what would SE/Namco and co gain from it? Surely for the unalligned 3rd parties, the more consoles the better.

For those, they just want the Wii gone, since they have this notion that it's a mutant system.

I don't care what anybody says, there isn't a witch hunt for the Wii, sure there are some people who don't think highly of the wii doesn't mean the industry as a whole wishes death to the empire, quite a few stand to lose more than those who have to gain.

My assumption is that 3rd parties, as well as the industry as a whole, has a serious grudge against Nintendo and would like to see them go out of business

I'm gonna go ahead and call BS on the grounds that Nintendo is widely respected.

Respected doesn't preclude resentment, and that respect can be in one direction, while dismissal can come in another.

So, in conclusion people believe that companys like Namco, Sega, SE and so on are secretly wishing that Nintendo vanishes off the face off the earth...? waaa....? Why?

It's called "competition". For instance, Microsoft wants Apple off the face of the earth.

This is a basic principle of business: less competition equals better business. Nintendo is one of the biggest competitors both in terms of software and hardware. Their elimination would be a huge success for 3rd parties and console developers alike.

umm learn your history, Microsoft actually bailed out Apple at one point saving them from almost bankruptcy. Sure there were some legal issues that needed to be settled  but Microsoft could have drawn it out until Apple folded.

Not claiming the industry as a whole, just a lot of developers.

Plus those that stand to lose more, are often too proud or set in their ways to support the Wii anyway.

Microsoft didn't bail out Apple, they got caught stealing Apple's code, specifically, Intel got their hands on the Quicktime code, and licensed it to Microsoft; Microsoft had been trying to kill Apple for years and Quicktime was one of the last fronts where Apple had an advantage.  Apple sued, and that led to the 1997 agreement between Microsoft and Apple.

Its a given, Nintendo next console will have power, 4 core cpu, 3gb ram , internal harddrive, maybe a 1gb ram GPU etc.. and make the system last 10yrs...  BUT!

Nintendo can talk about specs and features and all but Nintendo never talks about how its Online Community will be. Will I be able to chat or text mgs with friends? and would they get rid of Friend Codes and/or would I at least be able to see who's online from my friends list?

I am one of those who bought F1 2010 on PS3, but that was because Michael Schumacher is back in the game.

Just like NBA2k11 with have Michael Jordan. I will be buying it for that only reason lol.
