Forums - Sony - So I got my 60 GB PS3 back from the shop

Okay Leo, if you MUST make me shatter you dreams -- my girlfriend has Kingdom Hearts 1 (at her parent's house -- the PS2 isn't hers). I tried it, and absolutely loathed it. Seriously, from my perspective, it's one of the worst games I've ever played, and there is no chance I want it, at all. It represents precisely the sort of game I dislike.

I think you just need to give up on me liking the games you like, Leo. It's absolutely fine if you disagree with me -- really, like what you want -- but I think you're thinking here: "If he just tried it, he'd like what I like!" but I don't, and I won't. I honestly, genuinely, seriously and strongly dislike that style of game. Just let it go, and work with me here. Let's celebrate, I have a PS3 now, we aren't "enemies!" :p

Die a very slow, painful death for blasphemizing Kingdom Hearts.

Well I can see why you hate it, it is a Story Driven Hack n' Slash with RPG elements.

From Bod's past comments I'm fairly certain he doesn't play shooters on consoles.

I'm not really sure why you spent so much on a PS3 when your gaming tastes clearly don't match the majority of its library Bod, but I strongly suggest Okami on PS2.

He said he doesn't like RPG style cinematic story-driven games.

Did the 15 games I've already mentioned not make the 200 dollar purchase worthwhile? I don't understand the problem here.

You are absolutely correct that the "core" titles of the PS3 that define the Playstation experience (as distinct from the Wii or 360 experience) don't really appeal to me: God of War, Heavenly Sword, RPGs, Assassin's Creed, and other "cinematic" games that have come to be the Playstation hallmark aren't for me. However, I've compiled a list that's plenty long, and if I did end up buying all 15 games I've mentioned thus far, my PS3 library would be larger than my Wii library by a sizable margin (I have 4 Wii games so far, although I expect to buy Smash Brothers and Wii Fit and Endless Ocean early next year).

All for less than a Wii, AND I get a Blu Ray player for my HD TV. Why am I getting criticized so much T_T

Warhawk is a nice pick up, because the new expansion (Omega Dawn) will feature a new vehicle and a map. Not to mention that it is very easy to pick up and play. Resistance is outdated multiplayer wise, so it would be best to get Warhawk. Also, don't forget Everyday Shooter.

Didja get that thing I sentcha?

Transformers?

That's just insulting.

You don't think the game play is that good?

I'd forgotten you got it for $200.  I suppose that makes sense.  Out of off topic curiousity, what games do you have for the Wii?

Track down a copy of Klonoa 2 for the PS2, also get ICO if you can find it. The first Jak and Daxter was awesome, just avoid the other 2 in the series.

I endorse this message. If you have chosen Shadow of the Colossus (you have impeccable taste, my friend), then ICO should also be a must get.

Did anyone mention Blast Factor? Another PSN title to check out.

Did the PS2 get a version of "Bust a Move" like the Gamecube did? That's a fun casual game.

Oddly i can't think of many casual PS2 games, despite owning like... 60+ games on it... and it being the most casual system last gen.
