GT5/PS3 Bundle for Europe, PS3 Slim Faceplate for AUS
Gran Turismo 5 Other September 27th, 2010 by Jordan

For those of you in Europe waiting to pick up a PlayStation 3 until you can actually play Gran Turismo 5, you may want to take notice of the new PS3 (320GB)/GT5:CE bundle that’s hitting web retailers in Europe. You can grab it for £284.99 at Amazon in the UK, which represents a savings of £44.99 – considerably less than what you’d pay if you purchased the console (£269.99) and the game (£59.99) separately.

Our friends down under also have a neat and apparently official accessory available to them via EBGames.com.au – a handsome Gran Turismo 5 “face plate” for your PS3 Slim console, featuring the logo, artwork, and Kazunori Yamauchi’s signature. No word on when or if this will be available to those of us above the equator. Thanks to all who sent this in!

UPDATE: The PS3 face plate may be available in the United States via GameStop, though it’s appearance is unconfirmed (thanks, SuperShouden).

FINALLY YES!!

And no Phat faceplat?

Thats what we get SONY for buying a PS3 at £425 at launch? I'd buy a Phat GT5 faceplate in an instant!

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

The idea of "officially licensed" faceplates for the PS3 is a big deal. This could be a sign of things to come for special edition pack in games which have become so popular with 360 sku's ala; the Reach, MW2 bundle.

Although, if that is the actual image of the the sku, then it should show the slim with the faceplate attached instead of a generic black sku.

The actual SKU for the GT5 Bundle is jus the same as any other PS3 Slim.

The faceplate is just a product right now offered in Australia separate to the GT5 Bundle.

The GT5 bundle was kinda obvious, but I'm still glad it's finally there.

Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped:  the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

Time for hype

The faceplate looks nice, and Gamestop Germany lists it too, so we'll probably see it Europe as well.

I just bought a new PS3 because my old phat 60gb PS3 got a YLOD in july (I fixed it but it got one again a few weeks later, fixed it again and got another one some time later, now it seems to be completely broken), so I'm actually very interested in the faceplate.

2012 - Top 3 [so far]

                                                                             #1                                       #2                                      #3

mhm.. that face plat thing is a good idea...

considering it would make the ps3 slim look better..and custumizable with practicly any faceplate.. and it wont be that noticable that it's a faceplate

It'll only sell because it is bundled!  :p

:(

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.
