Forums - Gaming - Kotick: "Kinect price has to come down"

I like how he has an opinion on everything :)

Around the Network

from a guy who thinks that game prices should be increased to 100 USD (that would mean 150 AUD here is AUS)

and then say that consoles and the Kinect should get price cuts wtf

also they destroyed tony hawk, they have almost destroyed Guitar hero and cod is next on there list of destroying good games. Activsion is such a great company isn't it.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

Took the words right out of my head.

Wasn't DJ Hero $120?  And that controller did ONE thing only.

I paid almost $200 for the Guitar Hero World Tour bundle and I only wanted it for the drums which they didn't sell separately.

This guy is a huge hypocrite.

That was fast. LOL.

Kinect isn't even out yet.

You spoke my thoughts.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

You have to realize that his perspective is quite a bit different when it comes to Kinect ...

If Activision produces a $150 game that sells a couple million units and turns a healthy profit they're very happy as a company. On the other hand, if Kinect only sells a couple million units it is unlikely that Activision's efforts on Kinect will break even; because they're probably only going to sell to a small fraction of the userbase. Most games sell to 1% to 2% of a userbase, which means Activision probably wants 20 Million units of Kinect to sell to justify their current development efforts; and if you consider that the most expensive game/add-on to do that on a single platform is Wii Fit at $100 it is understandable that he would be worried about a $150 Kinect.

To be fair, he's arguing something that most people inherently agree with: lower prices.  This coming from the man who said he wants to take the fun out of games and raise the prices of games.  Not hard to get some support for a stance like that.  But I know what you're saying too...

this guy is a pure a$$hole and someone needs to kick his a$$ and put it on youtube for everyone too see. :)

all he does is complain about this or that and gets everyone mad at him, i wish all this companies games would flop big time , so he would get replaced. :)

Oh, I understand his motivation, it's greed.  If it were up to him Microsoft would give Kinect away so that they could sell millions of Kinect games.  Whats hypocritcal is to say that Activision can sell DJ Hero at 120 bucks a pop and earn a profit but Microsoft aren't allowed to make a profit on their peropheral since it's detrimental to Bobby Kotick making money.

You don't think artists would like to see the Hero games cheaper so that more people bought them and subsequently they had a larger userbase buying DLC?
