Forums - Sales - Wii Sports: Best Selling Game Ever?

Could Wii Sports possibly become the best selling game ever?

It already has 10 million in sales and if the Wii continues it's path the Wii could sell upwards of 100+ million.

Accounting for non-bundled Japan sales, Wii Sports could sell well over 70 million.

Even if Nintendo stops bundling it, it will probably still ahev insane legs, and it will outsell Super Mario Bros.

Who else thinks Wii Sports will be the best selling game ever?

I think it will outsell Super Mario Bros. in Mid 2009 and if Ninty stops the bundling, Late 2009.

I think someone made this thread 6-7 days ago.

Wii sales = continually faster than PS2 = >120 million lifetime

Nintendo will never stop the bundling.

.'. Wii Sports sales > 120 million

.'. Wii Sports best selling game ever: attach ratio 75% or greater for the best selling console of a generation. That's hard to beat.

Ubuntu. Linux for human beings.

If you are interested in trying Ubuntu or Linux in general, PM me and I will answer your questions and help you install it if you wish.

Wii Sports is bundled in America and Europe so a lot of people will use that as an excuse to dethrone it of the 'best selling game of all-time' throne. However: Super mario bros was also a pack-in!

THE NETHERLANDS

yes and the game is to cheap to compare to other games
if only all games were bundled and as cheap as it.

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

I did, or well technically my brother did, nintendo sells them for 15 bucks each (disk only), or at least they did during the summer, so actually the sales of wii sports should be even higher in the US

I HAVE A DOUBLE DRAGON CAB IN MY KITCHEN!!!!!!

NOW A PUNISHER CAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Um its a longshot. Nintenod needs to sell 40 million in Europe/Other and America while also keeping up its sales in Japan. In theory it should happen but of course have to take into account that Wii hardware sales have to be able to hit that first off. And that Nintendo keeps it bundled in.

but I doubt that Wii hardware sales in Europe/Other and America combined by the end of this generation will be less than 40 million, and that the plus 2 million now from Japan, woudl be able to give it that. So the hardware sales shouldn't be an issue. But really Nintendo will be the deciding factor. And that is will they keep it bundled in? Really I don't see why they wouldn't cause whether people want to realize it or not, Wii Sports is a huge selling point to the Wii and is aggressively contributing to Wii's high demand.

Odd, i thought every Wii owning American bought it? maybe i am misinformed but is the game not in every Wii box?

@OT, only if they stop the pack in very soon, If they stop it before 2008 (and sell it like Wii play) then it may run out of steam around 25 million.

I doubt if they do stop the pack in that it will just dissapear, so it has a very good chance.

I don't consider a pack-in worthy of that title. Nintendo themselves cite Mario 3 as the best selling title ever. Nothing stand alone this gen will beat that.
