All I know is that is by far the smartest thing sony has done this generation. They say the success of the god of war collection and that caused this new wave of ps2 collections. I'm personally going to buy them all. The next one being the sly cooper collection.

Hm.  I had assumed it was because they were released on ps2 in various forms, but you may be right.

Of course, Mortal Kombat was the oddball of the announced compilations, given it bearsa banner reading "HD Arcade Kollection" instead of "Classics HD" like the others.

It may be unrelated to the actual line.

I would get all of theme and more but I hope they do not damage the PS2s awesome library to much with theses collections.

Now you have got my hopes up for this now Square-Enix have to make it happen like they did on the original  PlayStation.

Am I the only one who love that franchise and think it's criminally forgotten?!

The potential for this is quite high, as a lot of third party devs could have HD ports (even if they outsource some of them to other companies) that don't cost a lot of money (they wouldn't seem to cost too much) and get some good profit from them. Think about something like Suikoden Collection, Wild Arms Collection (one I'd love), Metal Gear Solid Collection (even though Konami released one on the PS2 like a year or two ago, if I'm not mistaken); that's just a few that I'd like. If companies are smart enough to realize the untapped potential of this, they could be raking in quite good profits from this.
