What they did wrong? At least for Dragon Age, they overpriced probably every single piece of DLC.

I want more dlc like Point Look out and shivering Isles...
Everytime I am starting to enjoy ME2's dlc I already finished it;

I think that was Sony's fault....

When I said future DLC should be included in the purchase price, it really should be unless it's substantive content. When Mass Effect 2 is a 20-30 hour game at ~$50, trying to sling me extra 1-2 hour episodes for $10 is not a very good value for my money. This obviously varies from person to person, and yes, creating extra content costs money. At the same time though, providing new game content for free is a great way to sell new copies of your game while giving existing customers something extra. This is especially true when ME2 requires a network activation to even purchase DLC, thereby requiring any DLC user to buy the game new or pay for an activation code. In the case of Shadow Broker, perhaps giving that away for free would be a good way to entice people to pick up ME3? I don't think DLC is inherently bad it's just been so badly abused this gen that I don't trust most publishers and developers to relent on their newfound position of offering as little content for as much money as possible. I like that they support their games with extra content, I don't like that the popular model for doing this is to take advantage of the desire of fans to consume more content. |
fair enough. I don't agree with some of that, but I can respect it. I think we both agree that some of the prices they set are too high. While I think most of the ME2 DLC is well worth it, as they are pretty amazing for the most part, I don't get the same feeling of value as I got from the Fallout 3 DLC. Still, if Bioware can keep pumping out DLC with the same kind of quality as lair of the shadow broker, than I will keep paying for it.

Well it's £10 on amazon for 360, and I am fairly sure that they have not changed the digital price
| KylieDog said: Yeah its a rip off, I was waiting for Awakenings to release to buy DA but then they pulled this crap so I will not buy either. |
I wouldn't waste money on Awakenings anyway. It was ok, but not nearly as good as origins. I would still get Origins if I were you, no reason to not play a great game.
