Yes because nintendo has never copied anyone before

They did? Not that I really care in the long run, just want to hear your history of events.

Optic media

SEGA Saturn launched before the PS1 and the Amiga CD over a year before...

edit: forgot the 3DO and the Sega CD they also had optical media before SONY...

EDIT2: also Nintendo hired Sony to make a CD addon to the SNES even earlier as well so...

Who wants to watch movies on a screen that small?   I certainly don't.

I share the same thoughts, movies on any portable smartphone/console is unpractical.

But the fad "OMG I have a glasses free 3D Avatar movie in my pocket" will alone sell a couple millions of 3DS's.

just imagine what would happen if Nintendo allowed 3D porn movies on the 3DS...

When I travel by train I certainly enjoy watching video content on my Galaxy S. So I guess I would.

The movie sucks ass, but it would be a very good move from Nintendo to include the movie.

Think for yourself, question authority

I watch movies on my iPod Touch all the time so I'm used to small screens.

3DS with Resident Evil: Afterlife in 3D = :o!!!

Package the biggest grossing movie of all time that can be seen in its  unique form on the new Nintendo handheld.

WOW!

I have not seen the movie (no real desire) -- but I know that it sold 1B USD in tix. That is nothing to sneeze at. And if the unit can be sold as a 3D movie player -- and Nintendo makes a profit on its hardware (which it does, unlike its competitors), that means even more 3DS will be sold.

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

$2.8 billion.  $1 billion more than the second highest grossing film of all time.

This is nothing short of genius.   Movie quality wasn't all that and we've all heard or seen the underlying story a thousand times before it but it damn sure got the masses to go see it (I admit...I took my own sons to see it) and they see it again in portable form too if this rumor pans out.
