Forums - Gaming - Capcom: DMC4's 2.7m sales not enough, wants 5+ from reboot

I think if its extremely successful then 4mil is possible. i mean God of War 3 has just hit 3mil (i think) or is about to and DMC is more popular in Japan, and it will be multiplatform so i think that 4 mil is possible. i like the way Ninja Theory are approaching the game, it has the same type of over the top action style as before but seems to be more realistic and gritty than before. the only thing they shouldnt have changed imo is the character desgin. but DMC4s Dante looked wrong anyway, and imo it wasnt that good, so i think Ninja Theory could do great things for the series.

darth mentioned Kingdom Hearts, the only other action game that has enjoyed similar type of success is God of War i think.

Could have had authentic DMC if Kamiya was still around...

Instead you hired a developer who took 1 year to finalize the "look" of the character...while openly admiting that they haven't even started figuring out the combat.

Bravo! Great choice... God you suck capcom.

"capcom needs a reboot"

lol

My god I tried so many things in my life, but I probably never managed to get my hands on the shit they are smoking right now

Come on Capcom,l not even the highly acclaimed, internally developed DMC didnt managed to sell exactly 3 million, why do you think this silly looking reboot from a far lower caliber developer will manage to sell 5?

Which DMC was that? DMC4? Wasn't that made by copy and paste monkeys after pretty much everyone who had anything to do with DMC left capcom for platnum games?

Who headed up DMC3, again? It wasn't Kamiya, I don't think.

I agree...as far as I´m concerned, Capcom has been quite disappointing this generation, have to go with the old 'Crapcom' here....this is the first generation where they are way down there in my 'favorite developers' list...just loved lots of Capcom games since the NES days..from MegaMan to Street Fighter 2 on the SNES to Resident Evil on the PS1 to the original DMC, RE4 last generation, etc..now, this generation they´re just so underwhelming.

Asura´s Wrath might restore some of my faith in them, though...maybe.

I guess not...but DMC4 felt like a step backwards to DMC1, let alone 3.
