He isn't talking about nextbox. He's answering a question about X360, it isn't that difficult to understand if you try.

Unless a movie is 4 hours long, the movie's file size is <10GB. Technically, we don't even need blu-ray for blu-ray movies. All you need to do is use compression rather than needing a new format. Heck, if we just switched to dolby pro-logic II for CDs we would have our perfect stereo sound as well as 5.1, 7.1 etc. all still fitting on that same CD. New storage media isn't really needed for anything to this day.

I agree, I remember watching Quantum of Solace having not watched a blu-ray for ages, and it is just amazing, especially as most of my HD comes at 720p (most PS3 games and Sky)

Not to go Off topic, but what kind of HDTV do you have?

That's not what the Studio is saying: http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/wireStory?id=10474107 Twentieth Century Fox announced Sunday that James Cameron's sci-fi epic has sold 2.7 million Blu-rays and 4 million DVDs since April 22. |
My error, I keep forgetting that Home Media Research tracks revenue and not sales. While my 49% number was correct, it applies to revenue.

No, but zgamer5 is talking about the nextbox by logicly speculating. "It isn't that difficult to understand if you try."

Well, he can't speculate logically about the nextbox with an answer about X360.
I found this story about PC gaming embracing DD to be interesting: http://www.pcworld.com/article/205979/why_digital_downloads_are_soaring_on_pcs_not_consoles.html?tk=hp_new
So does that mean it really IS the future for next gen? Not for Sony, because they have royalties tied to disc formats that they'd be foolish to give up. But what about MS and Nintendo?
Anyway, as for THIS gen of GAMING, Blu Ray has proved to be a superfluous luxury. The movie thing is debatable, though. Does anyone have a link to a professional comparison between the same movie 1080p downloaded through the Zune marketplace or Playstation store and one played on Blu Ray?

It's logical when you consider the bigger picture that a handful of developers THIS gen have complained about DVD storage "restraints" when compared to Blu-ray.
