Culturally speaking FPS's shooters are the #1 games on both the PS3 and Xbox 360 and most of the sales of those games ( on both systems ) happen in the USA and Europe.. Any console not focusing on great FPS's in those regions of the world that wants to SELL Consoles ( which obviously is the reason to exist ) NEEDS to sell what is desired.. and not try and make RPG's that people want in Asia, which is obviosly not working out so well for Sony who is a whopping 120 million units behind the 360 in worldwide game sales..

Don't wait for it to break down, sell it while it retains some value and put the credit towards the new console. 

I am happy about that, I have always preferred western games to Japanese games. Even back in the N64 days I always like Rare better than Nintendo.

That's preety good and points towards a monster September NPD for the 360 , if the effect is similar in the U.S (and it might be even bigger since the halo reach consoles are selling like hotcakes in the states) .

Hope this is an indicator of things to come and not only in Americas.   To be fair even if the boost were almost MG Solid the bundle was a good excuse for an upgrade and they did a nice job with design and marketing.  MGS4 did around 240k back when PS3's were phat and $400.       

A lot of people seem unable to imagine why a new gamer would buy a Reach bundle.  As if the existing Halo fans have made a serious error due to some rare form of mass psychosis.

And not a single one of them is just like you... or me.  It's anarchy really.  We should welcome new gamers even if they do choose the 'wrong' console.  You can always show them the error of their ways here on VGC.
