COD: MW2

week 1 WW: 5 000 000

Pokémon B/W

week(end) 1 japan: 2 600 000

Pokémon B/W needs to sell at least 2.4 million units in America and Others combined to match/surpass COD MW2 for 360.

I think chances are very high this will happen.

Think for yourself, question authority

I guess, uh.

Wow.

Can't think of anything meaningful to add to that. Terrifying, just terrifying.

Could end up being the best-selling Pokemon game since the original Gold and Silver? We'll see.

Considering the incredibly large and matured DS install base in Japan, it could simply be a reflection of that and not go on to outsell Diamond and Pearl, depending on how well players receive the game.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Any word on what the word-of-mouth is like over there? I would have assumed it to be positive but you never know.

Wait...

Japan Preview said it was going to open to 1.8 Million units?

How can it be off by 800k units? That's a huge number to be off by... Even if it's 400k for each version.

I believe Source did have a disclaimer in there... saying that the particular retailer he used might've had supply issues or something or another.

I haven't got a clue. I'm just supposing the possibility.

That's fan-fucking-tastic!

if this holds, I guess Nintendo did try to ship as many copies as possible but still failed to meet demand. One of these days they got to go for the star and have 4 millions first shipment for Pokemon on handheld. There is no way Pokemon would sell anything less than that.

Then again, it also depends on when the game goes gold and how much time they have to manufacture the units. Maybe it's impossible to manufacture that many units in the time allowed.

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

Enormous. Giagantic. Gargantuan. Huge. Colossal. Massive. Beastly.

New words arriving POKEMONOUS/POKEMONIC/POKEMONUAN/POKEMONAL/POKEMONIVE/POKEMONLY

Bigger than biggest.
