Forums - Sony - 2 days of Sports Champions and i have to say, this game is....

I really like frisbie golf. not sure why as I hate frisbie's in real life but that game is alot of fun. I was surprised in the depth of the games though....and diffculty, table tennis is near impossible for me. As for the online portion goes wasn't there an online user agreement you had to agree to when you first booted the game up? Maybe they plan on implementing it later on. All in all I think its a cool game, My only gripe is I thought you could actually create your own characters.....

I assume the developers didn't put online because of the potential lag.

It could be, but I think it's actually because of the price point. I think they did a "simplistic" in order to be profitable at Us$39,99.

Anyway, I can't wait to have it on my hands. Gotta a question: can you play up to four persons at same time?

Yes

No, just 2.  Unless you mean AI players which I have no idea.

the game is quite good and hard enough for a good single player experience (not just party)... the table tennis game is very good and stands out for me...

Agreed, table tennis is hard as hell when you hit the secret boss of gold cup and then the champion cup.

I honestly have a really really hard time with table tennis. It seriously took me 13 tries to beat the 2nd opponent in the BRONZE cup.

I am good at all the other games in Sports champions, I must be doing something fundamental wrong. Maybe the PS Eye is set to high to register all of the moves, but I love all of the games in the game except for table tennis.

The bronze cup suck because its not the same gameplay. Your padle will teleport by itself in front of the ball. So if you try to hit where the ball is you will end up missing the ball. In bronze cup, all you have to do is hit at the right time.

Not according to IGN or the official page:

But I would like to see a video of four players, never saw it.

Me too.  I was always under the impression that Move could only support up to 2 players.

It can support four wands at once, but seven wireless connections all together. So if your only using the wands, you can use up to seven (if the game warranted that) but if you needed a nunchuck, then your limited to three players.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

I knew it supported more. But after trying it, I have a hard time imagining 4 person beside each other fitting in the camera range without smashing each other.

Also, can anyone tell me the different sports which you can do? Just so we can, y'know, dispel this whole "copy of Wii" thingy once and for all...

Uh... It has Archery, Table Tennis, Volley Ball (new), Disc Golf, Boche Ball (new), and Gladiator (new-ish sorta like an expanded Sword Fighting)

Archery and Gladiator require 2 Move controllers for one player to get the full experience.

So 3 new games and much less than what the resort package offers.

You speak not about the depth at which those games were created...There's a huge amount of Content in sports champions...who cares if there's 'only' 6 different types of games...the content and extensive gameplay is far more worth having a large amount of randomly hodgepodged mini-games, imo...

Your comments make me highly suspect as to if you've played Wii Sports Resort or its many many modes for each type of game... the reason Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort are so popular and not every actual hodgepodge minigame collection is because the game has depth, fun, style, polish, and content.

And I'm not even knocking Sports Champions with my comment, dayum.

Precisely- the Wii sports resort package is exactly the same. It doesn't seem diferent enough to me to warrant a purchase however, sadly :(

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Well I know at most the PS3 could only support 3 full players because of Bluetooth technology only supporting a max of 7 devices at once.  And as far as I was aware, the technology combined with PS Eye and Move only can support a possible 4 total Move controllers/devices.  So I suppose if this game has options for single Move controller usage, then yes it could support 4 players.  But these seems more like it supports 4 players the same the Wii Sports games do.  As in only one player is active at a time or you can use the same move for different players' turns.

I played the demo for it last night, and as a ping pong player for many, many years, I can say, "Holy crap thats awesome" (as far as ping pong goes).  In fact, I'm probably going to have to buy the game just for that.  I'm hopeful that the computer controlled players get much more difficult, but even the 2nd one in the demo wasn't TERRIBLE (still one 5-0, but there were some decently long rallies).  I really don't even care if any of the other games are any good, ping pong was so accurate compared to the real thing it's almost shocking.  Te only thing its missing is you can't really dive for balls (as you dont really move the player), and the ball seemed to stay on the table a little to easily.  But I'm still incredibly impressed.  Were the ping-pong games on the Wii this good?  (Not trying to start a fight, I just never got them, assuming a game couldn't recreate the subtle movements and their effect this well).
