What I don't get is how that one war/plan was any worse than anything else that goes on in the DCU. These guys have battled angels from heaven, the end of time, the embodiment of the devil, creatures that could re-create the big bang, guys that could erase reality, guys that could change history, a giant starfish, and a talking monkey. That final "nightmare battle" shouldn't even raise an eyebrow.
