I'm starting Physics at Oxford next week, but I would say I am more nervous than anything else. I have never been very sociable and so being dropped into a world where I know nobody really is more of a concern than excitement.

As for accommodation, I have absolutely no idea what is going on, I guess I will find out when I go up there, but they haven't told me anything about it. When I went up there for the interview I was in a room with a nearby shared bathroom... which I wasn't a fan of to say the least

i'm sure alot of people feel the same,

i think you should all enjoy uni and make the most of it,

i was intelligent but stupid and regret not doing the uni thing,i remember visiting two friends that went to cambridge and it was a great place to learn and have fun

Haha, I don't have lectures/seminars on Wednesdays, Saturdays, or Sundays! Though I am scheduled for 5 hours of philosophy on Fridays (part of the AI stuff in my course), I'm thinking that they are just doubled up lectures, though, so that people can attend one of two.

Well, I'm sort of lucky in the sense that I have a close friend who's doing exactly the same course as me, I have 3-4 acquaintances from college that are also attending the Uni, and there's another Uni that's 10 minutes away which has another couple of friends that are going.

I'm not sharing accommodation with any of these people, or anything like that, but at least it gives us a small group of people to go to the bar with on the first night, kind of thing, until we get settled in.

Uni starts next week for me as well. Graduating this quarter (ending in December).

It's crazy. Life passes by so quickly.

Ahh, don't say things like that! Fortunately, my student career is going to last 4 years at the least, as is the nature of my course, so I hope it lasts out!

Our graduation ceremony is hosted at Canterbury Cathedral, though... JOY

lol you a mind reader?

No seriously, it's Munkeh. He has all these electronic devices and lots of games and I've both asked him how he has time for school playing all those games and how he can aafford all the electronics with a students loan.

And I am buzzing! Literally been on a hype for over a week, now. Anyone else off to Uni soon, or just recently started?

For those interested, I'm going to University of Kent (Canterbury), I'm in a single-room, sharing a corridor with 7 other people. I'm studying Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence, not that it matters much, because I don't intend on being alive after Fresher's.

And for those a year below, I guess you're supposed to be writing your personal statements right about now... if you're struggling, just find your smartest friend and use it as a "template" (read: copy liberally), that's what I did, and it's worked out great for all of us - he's going Cambridge (CompSci with Maths), and I'm off to Kent to do my course.

So, yeah... EPIC

Here was me thinking you were in your twenties.

Have a great time at university guys hopefully I'll follow suit next year (fingers crossed)

You're not the first person on here to say that :P

I have noticed that my posting style in this thread has been far more juvenile (treating it like a blog, basically, and being slack with my language), but that's because I'm so excited.
