In all the stores i went into today nowhere had any stock of Move, they were all sold out! I was pretty surprised about this tbh... My two controllers should come tomorrow since they never arrived today *sad face*

Yes it seems like the first shipment was quite limited. All small stores should be sold out by tomorrow. I dont know about the big retailers though. Maybe Sony went all out with best buy and/or the japanese market. Or they simply wanted to create a sold out.
so based on everyone's post in this thread, not a lot of people bought Move with PS console? Most of them were just picking up the controllers?
MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
Maybe Sony limited the first shipment to test the waters. That's just a guess. All I know is the Walmart near me was sold out of them. And Walmart online was sold out of the Move controller last night, but have completely removed it today from the site. Target and Amazon are also sold out of the stand alone Move controller.
The only problem I have with this limited release "test the waters" theory is what's the benefit of this?
Does it mean that A) SCE screwed up the debut of Move badly enough to underestimate initial demand, or B) SCE thinks it's sound marketing strategy to release a product without enough initial stock, banking on some sort of reverse psychology "you will buy this because you can't right now" sales plan?
SCE had plenty of time to gauge consumer interest and prepare the launch accordingly. I will say many smaller retailers probably ordered limited initial shipments, but that's hardly an indicator that SCE somehow made some sort of active decision to withhold massive volumes of stock in their warehouses for no reason whatsoever.
Anyway, since Move is essentially a new controller, the majority of sales will simply correspond with the games consumers want to play that rely exclusively upon Move, or at least add a different enough experience from standard controls to push the sale of a controller with the game.

Good post, I think B may be a possibility. Being sold out is sure to make people talk, even if the sold out is a "virtual" one.
Are peopele really sad enough to go to midnight.... game releases. Really have nothing better to do.

Given the launch line up, it'll be hard to be anything better than a slow burner.
I don't think we'll see adoption pick up until we see more decent titles that support Move, like LittleBigPlanet 2, Killzone 3, and Ape Escape 4. Even then, only one of these will require Move (and that's IF Ape Escape requires Move).
CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY MOVE SPORTS AND OTHER GAMES WITH MOVE TACKED ON!
