Ofcourse Move and Kinect get much attention, they are new...The Wii got his time now see what Move and Kinect can do.

After the novelty wore off I didn't favour it any more as a shooter interface than I did the mouse or analogue sticks. It works but it doesn't set the world on fire for me.
Tease.

Oh, well if Squilliam claims he finds analogue sticks as good as motion cotnrols for shooters then everyone must, including me *chucks Wii in the bin*
I hate to say it Squilliam, but (especially with regards to Move) no-one is thinking of having it do things that the Wii hasn't already done.
Move is being marketed and viewed by most Sony fans as an improvment on the Wii - with better graphics and 1:1 motion controls (also, before anyone reading this points out that Wii has 1:1, and has for a while, I'll point out that I am well aware of this, the Sony marketing team seems to be glossing over it however)
Even kinect doesn't really seem to be pushing the angle of "we will provide core game experiences that the Wii can't/hasn't".
I suggest you learn to like motion controls for shooters, because next generation it will be impossible to play without them, either because the games won't support them, or because you'll just get constantly killed - your competition in multiplayer will have motion controls and the single player will have its difficulty tailored around someone playing with motion controls.

Come on... K&M work on shooters so well that I do not want to use inaccurate technology (analog sticks for shooters are very inaccurate for shooters when compared to K&M). As far as motion controls have gone, I don't feel accuracy in them in shooters so far. Motion controls are not going to replace things just yet until they are proven superior in EVERYWAY (in shooters anyway). I do not expect game controllers to disappear. And about difficulty because of using motion controls? Maybe it's because they still aren't fast enough to cope with some players play styles in shooters.
Do not overrate motion controls until it proves itself (which it was aimed to do so).
Sony is good at making WMplus nonexistant, though. I'd give 'em that.

Cool, I'll bet all the console games you own allow you to use K&M :P
You shall be surprised then, when classic controllers are eliminated.
Yeah, I do agree that old games ported to motion controls could be sped up to counter for the improvments in controls - Resident Evil 4 I found suffered greatly from this, the Wii game was way too easy.
"The question I want to know is can Kinect or Move actually lessen the gap between Sony/M$ and Nintendo?"
The answer is "no," at least in a statistically significant way of looking at things. No reason to point out that these perepherals will do nothing to the market as a whole.
You do not have the right to never be offended.
When you're in a race, and the leader is way out in front, but there's a close battle for second place way behind, the coverage will mostly be on that close battle, with occasional glimpses at the leader.

Ah you reminded me to add RE4 on my games haha. Look I'm not saying motion controls are bad, Im saying that they haven't proved worthy of replacing standard controllers yet. And Re4 was only eas y because the game it self isn't that hard in the first place. The controls made it easier because the game was not designed around the wii remote in the first place. they couldnt make major game changes (AI related) since it was just a port.
edit- Oh and i never use the classic controller for new games, only classic games (hence the name 'classic controller').
