Forums - Microsoft - Steel Battalion Heavy Armor is coming to Kinect

I am a huge fan of Steel Battalion, but this decision might end up making me hate Kinect. If anyone has ever played Steel Battalion, try to remember just how insane that game was to control--even the start up sequence. Now try to imagine how all that can be adequately replicated with a system like Kinect. They might succeed in creating the game, but it will be Steel battalion in name only . . . and that pisses me off since i have been waiting for another one for years.

Actually a mech game fits well with Kinect.  A cockpit style simulation is something Kinect should be able to do very well. While it won't be as complex as the original Kinect could add a level of emersion that hard core gamers will appreciate.

Here's the trailer. Glad to see the Kinect is getting some core treatment.

You can't really add immersion to the Steel Battalion experience.

Well, nice to see that they still have beach landings. Mech sizes have been reduced by like two orders of magnitude, though. Maybe three.

Also

This doesn't tell me what I need to know most, which is how it controls

So now the Xbox 360 will be getting two mech games. Interesting stuff!

Tease.

Well I look forward to seeing the details.

But I would assume you use your hands and maybe feet to work some virtual controls.

Kinect is probably required, but you will still most likely be using a controller with it.

I can tell you now, you won't be using that gigantic controller of yours unfortunately.
