 http://www.gwn.com/news/story.php/id/14767/Bungie_Sticking_With_Xbox_360_For_Now.html

speaking during a live text interview with consumer website Eurogamer, Bungie’s Frank O’ Conner stated, "We have no plans to work on any other platforms beyond 360 at this time.”

"Microsoft have been good friends to us," concurred Production Director, Jonty Barnes. "You can see the strength of our relationship in Halo. We're really focused on continuing our collaboration in making the best games we can, and that right now is on 360."

There you have it, any original IP is still going to the Xbox 360

"at this time.”

For now.

Microsoft still has a stake in Bungie, do not be fooled. Its probably like 49%. They wouldnt let them go completely off the mother ship

Bleh fine by me... I personally don't think Bungie is all that good -_- ; kind of funny though to buy yourself out of ownership and not do anything else :P

From 0 to KICKASS in .stupid seconds.

Absolutely, but a DS game at some point wouldn't surprise me.

maybe they want to continue with halo ..
so they want to strength the relationship with microsoft ..

i was hoping for the DS...bu....mehhh Bungie isnt that great to try and pull this crap

Looks like the people who said Bungie only bought themselves so they'd have more say in what they develop were right. Microsoft was probably pressuring them to start work on Halo 4, but they wanted to try something different.

Or maybe not. I'm not an expert on corporate stuff really...

Other platforms respond (in a sarcastic tone):

Oh no! Please Bungie bless us with another Oni. That game was brilliant.

This is old news
