This is going to hurt profits A LOT!
It just means their economy is doing better.
Yeah, it hurts exports, but its still a situation I would rather be in.

Well, let me guess.. you have no clue about basic economic facts?
What it basically means that Sony again loses money in Europe selling PS3s. I doubt this can be described as "It just means their economy is doing better"...
LOL I wonder if the OP has a google alert for whenever anything negative about the PS3 shows up online, as that is the only thing he posts. Anyways, I feel bad for Sony's stock holders as this will hurt profits big time, as they sell more in other countries than in Japan. Nintendo will take a hit but everything they make prints money, so they have no reason to worry.

That isn't a bad analysis of the situation.

That sucks for both.
Though i feel the worst for Nintendo. They innovate really hard, and are once again on top - after two gens no less. And then they have to see big profits fly out of the window for a stupid exchange rate - the only thing you can't effect. Iwata must feel so frustated.

I know quite a few users here that do the same, though they're not limited on spreading negative feedback for the PS3.
meh, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say all 3 make a profit next (this) quarter.
Sony did great to finally make a profit in the gaming division again, don't see any reason why it would go down, Microsoft ... well, the Slim, Halo Reach ... no Kin killing profits .. MS will profit a lot this Q. And nintendo .. well I'm not sure why they lost lots in the first place, but I bet it was on some new HW or SOMETHING, not losses on Wii ... so yeah, profit this Q.. although I'm least sure on this one.
Funny how the tables turn!
Well then I suppose it's good that the Wii and PS3 are made in China.
*sits back, patiently waiting for logic bomb to detonate*
This hurts Japanese game studios far more than it hurts either Sony or Nintendo, as all hardware is now made in China.

but if I remember correctly they pay for everything in Yen. Even the X360 is made in China, but they pay in USD. Nintendo has commented that a strong yen hurts their profits, and they've been producing their systems in China for a long time.
