Well there has to be an advantage to skipping one day (apart from the confusion it causes) or else the ability is pointless. I don't know how the sacrifice of Palom and Porom interfered with the Mafia's plans but right now the most plausible explanation is that they wanted two shots at a kill.

But I don't think Palom and Porom were scripted... well we can only know if one of the two gets cured.

Two possibilities come to my mind who j0 might be:

1) He is Sephiroth and trying to stay alive until he is able to kill Aerith and wants us to hunt for a non existent "second Sephiroth"

2) He is Aerith and knows that he will die through Sephiroth hands...

3) He is someone that has to get rid of Sephiroth to win(or something else)

good point! I didn't realize this. My first thought was that at least now mafia won't target him because he'll die anyway. 

Guess I should've tried to look at it from a negative standpoint too.
However, your theory really hinges on whether or not there is another aerith....except at this point aerith really shouldn't speak up and can at least stay alive til day 4 whereupon we might get sephy.

Man, it seems like there are a lot of good gambles going on at the moment. This one, and hephs.

Ignore my last post^^ its pretty much just me quoting the prof00... I hit the post button instead of the cancel button... hehe^^

So persons we are pretty sure to have in this game:

Sephiroth
Aerith
Artemisia (was that the name of the FFVIII main antagonist?)
Palom
Porom
Someone to heal those two...
Kefka (come on... there has to be Kefka^^)

I really don't see any reason for thinking I'm Sephiroth, when I just literally said I'm dead meat.

I mean, I just put myself in a situation where if I survive, I'm going to get lynched.

So now the real sephiroth knows who aerith is, cant a doctor just protect you from sephiroth?

I don't think a doc can prevent a preset event... but maybe he can... on the other hand it might be a lost protection...

According to my PM, Aerith dying on day 4 is inevitable. The only way to stop if is if Sephiroth dies before then.

Anyways, I'll like to point out scripted events again.

If this is a scripted event, what's to say there isn't more?

The point isn't that you're sephiroth, but that someone who was sephiroth could have claimed aerith, and aerith would not have been able to pop out and say "it's a lie, I'm aerith", because seph would then kill her, and the town would not have enough information to lynch either of you. (assuming sephs mission is done once he kills aerith).

However, if seph is mafia, then it wouldn't make sense to claim aerith because he would get lynched the next day.
