What?  Where did Homer say the target would be informed.  The target is almost never notified that they have been protected.  The only case where I have seen that is when a Jailkeeper targets a role that is supposed to get information back from the mod, like a cop.

He never said it.  I just thought they would know for some reason because IIRC it's permanent, but you're probably right.

Homer said that it was unstoppable - or something similar to that. 

According to Homer, his investigation on you couldn't have been affected by anything else, because there's a 100% chance of it hitting. 

That pretty much contradicts your belief that you got switched with someone or his role got tempered with.

We already know that GoW's story about killing nen-suer was bullshit. Also the story only mentions one killer which is good since we already have someone who claimed the kill: Kantor.

But wait... what character in the Final Fantasy series is well known for his laugh? The one and only Kefka! Would this mean that Kantor is the psycho clown Kefka? Also, on the OP nen-suer's death was labelled under Destroyed (before he was rekilled), I'd say it could very well fit the result of someone being hit by Kefka's Light of Judgement wouldn't it?

Am I making any sense here or am I going crazy?

Somebody find that flavored text! I think the key to finding Kefka is in there!

Hypothesis (I):

Kantor is Kefka - He either poisoned someone else, poisoned himself, or poisoned nobody and dtewi is misleading us to believe that Kefka poisoned somebody.

I highly doubt dtewi purposely tricked us in the flavored text, but maybe Kefka has the ability to give false information in the text >_<

if we can conclude who Kefka is today, I'll gladly give him the lynch priority because I don't want anyone else to get poisoned.

Thoughts on some people: 

Vetteman:  not sure

theprof00:  interesting roleclaim, I'm inclined to doubt it because wtf would he do the same person twice for, instead of e.g. one of the supposedly connected guys; on the other hand it's a really weird role to fabricate.  But then again it's a pretty weird role for dtewi to make ...

I feel like he's trying to railroad me (in addition to legitimate suspicion of me), but it may well be just his overconfidence. 

TOS:  He's been damn intelligent in his contributions and dug up good stuff like the fact that Kantor is very probably Kefka.  My first instinct is to trust him but who knows. 

MG:  Is dying so who cares

Homer:  Claims investigation against me, which I'm fairly sure is wrong; but there might be a bus driver or body snatcher? 

j0:  Claimed Aerith; no one has refuted; claimed he would die by Day 4 if Sephiroth wasn't dead and this would be stupid to false claim so I believe it. 

Stefl:  Killed 2 mafia, what more can a man ask for!?
Kantor:  Is Kefka but is also dying so who cares

Cid couldn't make heads or tails of who Kantor was and left the evil Sephiroth to die... but not before kicking his stupid face.

He turned towards the rising sun, and saw a little girl silhouetted in the distance... she seemed vaguely familiar...

"Staring is rude you know!"

Porom!!

Cid's heart leapt and he rushed forward.

"Who healed you?" he said after he met up with her.

"I don't know. They left before I could see them. Palom is still Stone though... I guess they had to leave before I could see them."

Cid smiled at her. At last something good had happened to them...

nen-suer was Sephiroth, and was a Murderer.

Look, unless TOS is deliberately misquoting which is unbelievably risky and I'll check it later: 

Laughing Man deals fatal blow to Silver-hair, who says he "got his revenge" by poisoning Kantor.  "Revenge" only makes sense if Kantor is the Laughing Man, which is probably Kefka.

I thought he said that the protection was premanent and that the investigation was 100% accurate (but could be 100% accurate on the wrong person) i.e. it would have detected SKs, Godfathers, etc. 

If you are correct and the investigation was supposed to hit its intended target no matter what, that ... changes things.
