Forums - Sales - How Much Will The PS3 Sell World Wide On PS Move Launch Week ?

i had made a thread here on vgchartz about the prices and features of the move and kenict bundles http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=116015&page=1#

as you can see the 320gb is a steal

also in EU the 160gb hasnt even launched yet it comes out sometime in Oct

i believe Move week PS3 will sell close to 200k

i believe than in Oct once the Move really starts the ball rolling and with 160gb launching in EU along with Move launch in japan (Move prices and bundles in japan are dirt cheap there cheaper than rest of world by quite alot) it will be able to outsell 360 atleast once WW

Interesting to see by how much some people were off with their predictions. But Move is clearly a slow burner and will boost PS3 sales over the long run.

Yeah i think your right, after a few more games come out for it, maybe some cross platforming from Wii titles, and it goes down a bit in price, i think it will be a steady seller week on week.

Where is the evidence that move is "clearly" a "slow burner" and that it will "boost the ps3 sales in the long run" ?? Because it flopped in its launch week and did basically nothing for ps3 hardware sales ??

Move has a few weeks before kinect releases to built up whatever kind of hype it can , then when kinect launches....oh well the numbers will speak for themselves .....

It flopped according to who?

OT: Looks like some were off a bit. But considering the word of mouth Move has generated (and the fact that the controller itself is back up for pre-order at some retailers due to demand), I think it will enjoy a decent holiday season, with 2011 being a good time for it. If anything, Sony may have been spot on when they said it would start out slow and take off, they've underestimated demand a bit. Better than overestimating, nonetheless.

@johnglen: You're looking at the Move like it's a game with a mediocre launch and it's sales are going to die off over the next few weeks. But Move isn't one piece of software, it's a accecoires wich is going to spawn alot of game titles in the future and therefore boost PS3 over the long run.

Kinect however might be very front-loaded because off the heavy marketing and hype and how strange this might sound, some proper launch titles. Because the problem with Kinect is while it might be more ''innovative'' it's also more limited. The lack of buttons means it's only suitable for a limited amound of game genres, including dancing, fitness, party and maybe fighting games. And that's the problem right there, the launch titles already have all those genres covered.

Unless Microsoft atleast adds some kind of stick or navigation controller to Kinect, it won't be usable for any core game titles.
